Don’t Let the 43 Republicans Who Voted for Obama’s Transgender Agenda Spin Their Vote
Daily Signal ^ | 5/27/16 | Ryan Anderson

On Wednesday, 43 Republican members of Congress joined the Democrats to vote for President Barack Obama’s transgender agenda. Now they’re trying to spin their vote.

These 43 Republicans voted for the Maloney amendment, which ratified Obama’s 2014 executive order barring private businesses who do contract work for the government from engaging in what the government considers to be “discrimination” on the basis of “sexual orientation and gender identity” in their private employment policies.

As I pointed out in an earlier Daily Signal article, “discrimination” on the basis of “gender identity” can be something as simple as having a bathroom policy based on biological sex, not gender identity.

When Hastert was speaker, he put Shimkus in charge of the cover-up of scandals among R Congressmen, not the least of which was Hastert himself.

In turn, Shimkus staffer Davis did the dirty work and was appointed congressman as a reward.

Votes on things like this are considered in terms of their personal lives and how it will affect their careers.

"An executive order can only be undone by a vote of congress or by the next president."

I can see that executive orders are how presidents send directives to officials within the executive branch. Executive order is just a fancy term for internal memo from the president in that context.

But note that the Supreme Court busted President Truman for sending executive orders to people outside the executive branch, the Supremes clarifying that executive orders do not have the force of law unless they are legislatively supported by Congress.

Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. v. Sawyer

But even when an executive order has the legislative backing of Congress, Congress must be able to justify such legislation with its constitutional, Article I, Section 8-limited powers which corrupt Congress cannot do with many of the laws that it makes these days.

These days FReepers probably know more about Congress’s Section 8-limited powers than Congress does.

Just emailed mine, LoBiondo. Told him he has lost my vote.

He’s in the primary on the 7th.

Glad Hurd is the only Texan on this list.
For others:

He beat Dem Pete Gallego in a close one in 14 and if Gallego runs again Hurd may be a goner. Texas 23 is an enormous district that runs from San Antonio to El Paso along the border.

I spoke with one of Gallego’s staffers a couple of months before the last election and they were pretty confident. Maybe over confident. Am guessing Hurd will have quite a fight this time as the Dems will think this is a seat they can get back.

Hurd is a black guy who spent ten years in the CIA.

There is no way they will be able to “spin” these votes. Not going to happen.

What? Paul Ryan didn’t vote for it? Issa’s vote came as a surprise.

No wonder that farce of an investigation went nowhere

He wrote very effective letters of outrage though. :)
