Four Reasons Trump’s “15 State Strategy” is Brilliant

Trump recently teased a “15 state strategy” in the general, which include some where Republican nominees don’t often campaign or consider swing states.

*Note the map is Fox News’ interpretation of what 15 states they believe Trump may have in mind and has not been confirmed as the 15 states Trump is referring to.

“We have to win, and I want my energy to be put into the states where it could go either way…. and we’re going to play heavy, as an example, in California. Now no other Republican — they wouldn’t even go to dinner in California. They wouldn’t do it.”

Many simple minded media talking heads have already expressed cynicism in this strategy, considering states like California and New York a waste of time. However, here are four specific reasons why “they” are dead wrong.

Worse case scenario: Sell a hotel.

Another intangible is that Trump is sending a message to the voters in CA for example, that he cares about their votes (and wants them to vote in November).

No problem. He probably owns a bank and can get a short term loan until he sells a building or two.

The map doesn’t show Oregon is a Focus State. New poll shows Trump +2 in the state.

I live in Nevada, we have both state houses and Governor in Republican control, many of the congressmen are republicans, Reid is retiring and if it changes hands that would be 2 GOP Senators. Why isn’t Nevada on the list? I know more dems are registered but two weeks ago there was a riot at the Dem Convention here and they booed Boxer.

I hope Trump makes that 17 states. The 2 I mentioned would be easier wins than CA.

>> Worse case scenario: Sell a hotel <<

Easier said than done. If you’ve ever tried to sell a parcel of commercial real estate on short notice, you will know that a “liquidation” price or “fire-sale” price will often be half or even less than half of a “fair-market value” price.

Also, because Mr. Trump has never released an AUDITED financial statement, there’s no way for somebody on the outside to know which hotels (if any) he owns outright, versus the hotels he could sell only with permission from other partial owners and/or from lenders.

Last but not least, the sale of any hotel that Mr. Trump owns outright could subject him to huge depreciation-recapture taxes and/or capital gains taxes. Such taxes could, in some circumstances, eat up almost half of the sales proceeds.

In short, the whole matter might be immensely complicated — maybe even “worse” than your “worse case” scenario!

I’ve always understood that if you own a bank, it’s generally against the law for that bank to lend to you.

In honor of Memorial Day and those who willing gave their lives so the Clintons could steal and sell America to the enemy, I give you Lt. Gen. Chesty Puller.
At the Battle of Chosin Reservoir, he received word that the Chinese had surrounded him and his men. He then told headquarters, “We've been looking for the enemy for some time now. We've finally found him. We're surrounded. That simplifies things.”

Trump's strategy is similar to Puller. He is surrounded. He can attacked in any direction and will meet and defeat the enemy whomever it might be. Great leaders see opportunity to win.

It was a joke. Regardless, I think a billionaire, international business tycoon who owns dozens of buildings and golf courses can address his financial requirements to fund his campaign.

Adelson is in for 100 million, He is net worth 30+ billion.
Icahn is worth 30+billon he could write similar check.
Trump has Golf course members at all his several courses that could write million dollar checks. People Trump did favors for in NYC could write him checks.

Trump will have close to 15 million primary voters who could send him $10 each that is $150 million minimum.

Do you still think Trump needs to sell buildings to fund the campaign?

I don’t think Trump will short of cash, especially since he is super frugal, he doesn’t need one fifth as much cash as Hillary.

That’s right. Trump needs to go behind enemy lines, keep heading into CA. After endless lies emanating out of state/fed government for decades, CA could use a real candidate speaking real truth.

CA needs Trump more than any other state needs a Trump administration.

Ceding state after state to the Democrats has made winning the Electoral College a lock for them.

Yep. I think he's running a 50 state campaign. He won't win them all. If I had to bet, I wouldn't put money on him winning California. But the R Party in California is seeing a resurgence.

And, every time the leftist loons in California show their asses, he gains everywhere.

In other, shocking (to me) news, it looks like Rosanne Barr (yes, THAT Roseanne) is on the Trump train. She tweets that he is the only candidate who even mentions the veterans. She also has harsh words for college leftists.

If he's getting idiots like her to see the light... something is definitely going on.

?

I'm not sure you meant to reply to me, I said nothing about selling buildings.

However Trump chooses to fund the general election, I'm sure he's thought through many scenarios and won't do anything rash.
