I don’t think it Republicans support massive legal immigration. Usually, I suspect, they say this to preempt a common anti-immigrant meme. Personally, I would stop all immigration, kick 10 or 100 illegal aliens out for every new legal immigrant. And, disallow any immigration from worst offending countries, like Mexico.
This is akin to trying to convince Obama that he doesn't know what he's doing.
I guess pour Bret does not get it. Many Americans have already learned their lesson. Voting for Rino’s is a formula to an end of America.
A most apt description of both William Kristol and Bret Stephens! As for masculine women, Hillary comes to mind.....Trump is no neoconservative panty-waist Politically Correct apologist like the 'lace-cuffed pretentious Kristol and Stephens....
So we can go back to nominating candidates like Bob Dole and John McCain.
These same pimps in the beltway were perfectly fine with Barry back in 2008.
The WSJ in the past year has made itself worthless with its Never Trump BS!
They love Hillary because she’s the status quo. The elite has done fabulous under Obama for 8 years. Hillary will continue it.
The blue blood, country clubber liberals want everything to stay the way it is.
Please do. It needs to get around.
“Scum such as Stephens ... They think of workers as chattel”
I once worked with a guy like this. He was hired by some consortium to help my good friend and mentor run the business side of his startup company. I was brought in to lead the engineering side. Within 10 minutes of meeting this guy, I couldn’t stand him.
First, I was working elsewhere and he wanted to meet me. I told him I’d be there *around* 1PM. I made it clear that I was leaving my day job and might be 15 minutes early or late. I got there at 1:10PM. He tried pulling some crap and suggested that he didn’t know if he wanted to hire me being late for my “interview”. I promptly stood up, told him “thank you for the “interview”, and left.
My mentor knew my skills ... this guy was simply trying to get me to beg him for forgiveness. Had I told him 1PM sharp, I would have apologized. He was simply trying to display his alpha male prowess.
Anyway, I still took the job. On my third day there, I saw him berating a guy I knew for years. He had no college degree, but was a brilliant engineer (that’s all that matters in my book). He often had difficult times finding work. This pig-guy knew that and exploited it. He was yelling at him like a 4 year old for literally no real reason. I mean, the engineer was doing his work ... this moron just started to flip on him.
I walked over and asked the jagoff if he felt better ... very sarcastically. Since he knew I couldn’t care less if he fired me, he backed off. I told him “wise move” and my friend was never picked on again.
This idiot often claimed that he looked at engineers as dogs. I think it was to get a rise out of me, but knowing that I always took it in stride. He claimed to feel that engineers were nothing more than blunt instruments to get a job done and cash in. Chattel basically.
One time I got completely sick and tired of his garbage and point blank asked him “What exactly do you do here?”. He started screaming at me, I subsequently started laughing.
Overall, I was miserable there, but didn’t let him know it. I talked with my friend/mentor about leaving after I finished up a filter ASIC I was designing for them. I was paid a bonus for my work and had some night courses I was taking for an MSEE covered. Pig virus guy fought that every step of the way. I won.
I warned my friend that this guy is no good and to watch his back. About a year later, pig vomit decided to sue my friend/mentor and tried to get control of the company. He failed. It took a hell of a toll on my friend’s health though. He passed away quite young (early 50s) of a heart attack. That crushed me ... he taught me almost everything I know and actually was a heavy influence on my political beliefs. I hate to seem childish, but I blame pig freak for that.
I take some solace in that the company eventually was sold for some decent cash and he saw none of it. My friend’s wife would have done pretty well in that deal. His nephew is running the place and they’re still chugging along. I wish he could have been around to see it. If anything, his last lesson to me was one of stress management.
Anyway, a lot of people like this Stephens fellow exist in the business world. I’ve seen it first hand. I’ve also learned that it’s almost normal for any company in Silicon Valley to have a few people like this vomit inducing ass.
While I am a firm believer that you run a business with only one goal in mind ... winning ... I am also of the firm belief that you don’t treat your employees as if they were disposable. It’d almost be like a military commander running around trashing his soldiers for literally no reason. You hire someone, you support them. If they fail you, you fire them. If they help create success, you reward them. That kind of management takes talent and morals though ... something we sorely lack in this country these days.
Finally, to this day, I have no idea what that scumbucket did for that company. He had a few contacts in some companies we worked with, but, outside of that, I couldn’t figure out a single thing he contributed to the success of that place.
If TSHF, I wouldn’t hesitate to set things right with that pig bastard. As far as I am concerned, he indirectly killed my friend. If I ever find myself in a position where I am working with someone like that, they’ll regret having crossed my path.
My disdain for elitist attitude has hit a boiling point and I cannot tolerate it anymore. My dad was a butcher and my mom frigging cleans houses for a living (she loves it ... she’s in her early 70s and seriously does it for kicks!). I saw early on how the world works and what people need to enjoy life ... I don’t need some pimple prick journalista dictate that slavery is what’s needed to make him richer and that we should all simply accept it.
/rant off
I can only say that I would not shed a tear if I ever happened to read Brets Obituary.
Hey Bret,
GFYS
I am VERY SORRY about your friend, he should have fired him EARLY ON, I have worked for many people who have that better than thou attitude, they seem to believe throwing their power around intimidates people that has NEVER worked for me and have ALWAYS left those jobs!!! As I grew older I found running my own business was the much getter way to go, I have ALWAYS believed in EMPOWERING my staff making them feel trusted gets you SOOOOOO much further, I will however always run across one or two that will start with that bossing other staff around they don’t last long with me!!!
If your staff knows you trust them they will be more likely to deserve that trust.
I RECKON WE ARE reciprocating RIGHT NOW to what these BASTARDS have done to us already!!!!! They just DON’T SEE they are NOW reaping what THEY have sewn!!!!
Yet another reason to cancel your Wall Street Journal subscription.
Maybe these clowns figure they will make more money and be more popular with Hillary in the White House as her “opposition” than with Donald Trump in the White House - who will likely kick them to the political wilderness along with their fellow RINO’s and take away their influence.
Before anyone totally slams the WSJ, take a look at Friday’s Kimberly Strassel editorial, “Trump Rakes the Clinton Muck.”
It dead-on nails the Clintons for what they are.
"Never mind," Stephens added.
