An Ohio criminal made the mistake of robbing a bank that had an armed, off-duty police officer inside and loaded his gun with the wrong kind of ammunition.
The now-deceased 20-year-old Terry Frost III timed his robbery perfectly Wednesday, and knew the exact moment the teller withdrew $90,000 from the ATM. Police have now released surveillance footage of the shooting.
Frost sprinted into a Madison, Ohio bank and within seconds jumped the front desk, grabbed the bag, and then found himself on the receiving end of Officer Kevin Hankersons weapon.
Frost pointed his weapon, wrapped in a plastic shopping bag, at the officer and it misfired. Hankerson fired twice, hitting Frost once in the chest. The hapless criminal loaded the wrong ammo, investigators found, when they finally tracked down Frost, dead in a nearby wooded area, Cincinnati.com reports.
Investigators are still puzzled as to how Frost knew the exact moment when the teller would have $90,000 sitting out for him to snatch. They said it was very likely Frost tried to fire his .38 caliber Derringer during the robbery, because when they examined the weapon, they saw the firing pin had been struck. Frost had loaded .380 ammunition into the weapon.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters said Friday the shooting was justified and the officer will not be brought before a grand jury.
It was as clean a police-involved shooting as Ive ever seen, Deters said at a press conference.
Officer Hankerson committed a great act of bravery in his actions and he should be commended for what he did, he added
The fail here is epi7.
In this case it seems insignificant digits are more significant than meets the eye.

Headline reads, “Robbery suspect killed by officer was former football star.”
The first 2 paragraphs:
“CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Family members say the man shot and killed by a Cincinnati Police officer was a good kid and gifted athlete at Withrow High School.
“Since 2013, Terry Frost started hanging around the wrong crowds, friend Brandon Kenney described.”
That cop was fast into action there. Damned good job. I notice the cop appears to be black too, so this one is totally free and clear of the BLM racist commies, and one more of Obama’s sons got a free ticket to stay out of jail forever.
I’m really shocked by this story. I never would have guessed that he would have known not only who his father was, but also who his paternal grandfather was.
He must not have had any street cred at all.
ROTFLMAO, one of the funniest things I've EVER heard, thanks!
“Well, no Terry Frost IV”
There are probably 5 or 6 of them. All getting welfare from us the taxpayers.
He was shot seven times by the other clerk. The first clerk berated the other one as they were waiting for police to arrive, ‘I never showed him how to turn off the safety.’ The perp’s family lawyer sued three separate times trying to collect on the death; the judge in the third case put the lawyer in jail on contempt charges.
Mr Frost is now cooling off and will soon reach a constant temperature of near 55 degrees.
Don’t see where it says the officer was uniformed. It just says he was off duty.
I also don’t see a link.
Never mind the second point, I refreshed the page and it shows the link.
Big question is who was the inside man. Real big question.
Be very careful if you reload.
A 9 mm bullet is .355,.356 inches in diameter
A .380 is the same diameter
A 38 Special is .357, so a .380 bullet would go down the barrel if the cartridge fired in the derringer.
A 357 magnum is the same as a 38 Special, .357
All of these bullets are within a couple thousants of the same diameter
A 44 magnum is really .429 inches in diameter
Well, no Terry Frost IV
...
Actually, he had a two year old son.
BLM will demand the bank be named after him.
So since it’s rimless I assume the firing pin just pushed the cartridge farther into the barrel without setting it off. Sound right?
Perhaps he should have used an Astra 400. It will shoot various 9MM-.38 cal ammo.
Thank you for the information on cartridge diameters. I am a machinist, and a firearms enthusiast, so most of this stuff is old-hat. However it would be interesting to drop a .380 cartridge through a .44 Magnum cylinder. Thanks again. Also, I don’t re-load, so I’m pretty safe, here.
They learn it from t.v. and from video games.
