IRS called and told me I would be arrested if I did not call a phone number and straighten things out.
Rebeca form credit card services calls once a month.
Some guys form India working for Microsoft call regulatory.
The “Police protective association” calls regularly.
The Colorado “No call list” is another scam that does nothing.
The few times I have picked up the phone and one of these AHs is on the line, I listen to their pitch, assuming it is not a robo call, and then say that sounds serious, send over a rep ASAP so I can give them a check. I am still waiting.

You too?
Not 3 or 4 times a week? You're lucky- I get her twice on home phone and twice more on the cell most weeks.
I use a CPR Callblocker. Every solicitor/scammer has one chance at me, then never from that number again. A phone that used to host several unsolicited calls a day now allows none for weeks at time.

It can be a scary scenario. Your computer screen suddenly vanishes and a blue screen appears with an error message or a phone number to call for tech support.
“It tells you to call an 800 number, tells you computer has been infected with a virus. Sometimes it will even be a computer generated voice message,” Todd Conn said.
.....
“The best thing to do if that comes up is to turn your computer off and back on. 9 times out of 10 your computer is never actually infected unless you give them access,” Conn said.
