There is no other place I know of that gets seen, read, commented on, and easily discussed like Free Republic. It is a gem. And it’s conservative.

For sure. I'm not an outgoing social animal and FR is my main source of 'socializing.

I hate it that so many who claim to espouse conservative values are willing to leech off the rest as they make all sorts of excuses to not pay their share (or even a token few bucks for those who are not well off).

I offered to p[ay $5 extra for up to 10 FReepers who couldn't afford it and none took me up on it. I will assume that they did not want to come forward and will add an extra $50 to my normal monthly $50 donation during the first week of June just in case because several have railed on about being in dire financial straits from time to time so I know some are out there - even though most are probably making excuses for being cheap rather than so strapped that an occasional $5 or $10 would ruin their lives.

I do about an extra ten each month from pocket change...donations to honor sick or deceased FReepers...now we need an extra 12.38...it all seems important to me.

We are being taken advantage of...maybe????
