Andrea Mitchell: Hillary Email IG Report ‘Devastating’

Thursday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” NBC chief Washington correspondent Andrea Mitchell reacted to a State Department Inspector General report criticizing Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server while she was serving as President Barack Obama’s secretary of state.

Mitchell first dismissed the Clinton campaign’s defense, comparing Clinton’s behavior to that of her predecessor former Secretary of State Colin Powell and then declared the report to be hard to be seen as “anything but devastating.”

“It was not allowed to not return those records before she left the State Department,” Mitchell said. “She violated the official records act according to her own State Department IG appointed by President Obama. What you have shown just now, Mika, it completely undercuts the argument she’s been making for more than a year just as she’s trying to persuade voters she’s untrustworthy. I think the most surprising and shocking thing is their reaction. Claiming this is the same as what former secretaries did, comparison to Colin Powell. The facts are Colin Powell was the first secretary of state to ever use email. He used it specifically to try to launch the State Department into the new century and try to get people to communicate by email.”

“He was using it by example,” she continued. “He did use personal emails. He didn’t always separate them, but it was completely aboveboard — everybody in the State Department knew what he was doing. It was not, in fact, violating a rule that was put in place under Clinton, not after she left — It was put in place under Clinton and she was warned before hand of decades of this records act that prohibits you to leave the State Department, to leave any agency and not turn over your records.

The full extent of the breach won’t be known. The vulnerabilities could have been exploited to distribute remote access key loggers, reverse connection, trojan viruses throughout our most sensitive networks.

Basically Hillary took down the entire government. Once our enemies realized what she'd done, half her server filled up with spyware. And then the spyware piggybacked itself into every nook and cranny of every Department in fedgov that the State Department could reach, including the Pentagon itself.

NSA must be beside itself. We need to reboot the entire freaking government computer system to even begin to have communications security ever again. But I can't even imagine how that's possible. The sheer size of this security breach is mind boggling.

I think Andrea Mitchell suspects HRC may not be the nominee after all, or that she'll be so wounded by then that she'll lose to Trump. Mitchell is correct: the State Dept report IS devastating, and surely the FBI’s report will be even worse. The rats are deserting the sinking ship HRC.

Of course the Clintons will go nuts, but that's why this will be such dramatic fun! If HRC is indicted, the Dems aren't just going to say, “Oh, well, we musn’t get Hillary angry at us...” There will be a war within the Democrat party. The CLintons may be powerful, but they are not omnipotent. If Hillary is under indictment, do you really think 100% of the members of the Dem establishment are going to continue to back her?

the rreason i think hillary is close to dead (as in walking dead), besides the fact that she has been AWOL in front of the press on this since the state IG report on her email practices was leaked, is that hillary is perilously close to a public blowout. for example, trump and sanders can hold a debate on their own in california. they are guaranteed major coverage, no matter which network shows or does not show it.

in the debate, trump and sanders are both free to pummel hillary in effigy, because she would presumably not show. (actually, hillary perhaps can never share a debate stage with trump, because trump has already signaled publicly that he will not abide by the prevailing msm hillary-coddling coverage code.) anyway, at a trump / sanders standalone debate, trump would have oodles of air time to attack hillary over the IG report. It would suck the oxygen out of the hillary msm narrative, or whatever is left of it.

In fact, the only msm narrative i have heard lately in defense of hillary in general is that "trump will never win the election." But how do they know that? They never seem to get around to saying. This leads me to believe that it is just an artifice designed to let Hillary off of having any serious debate whatsoever with anyone who is willing to go full tilt against her. Andrea probably can't quite make herself swallow that meme -- apparently she still has the vestige of some pride in her craft left.

I think Trump is going to thump anyone the DemocRATs put up at this point. No matter what current polls say about Sanders, he would get shredded once Trump goes to work on him, considering his ideas and history. Biden, Warren, others? I don’t think the ‘Rats have any good replacement for Shrillary at this point. Let her crash and burn, just so long as it means JAIL time....
