The conservative Law and Justice party, which came to power last October, has carried out a series of sweeping reforms to the Constitutional Tribunal and other institutions, prompting anti-government protests and criticism from the EU.
Commenting on former US President Bill Clintons recent claim that Poland and Hungary consider democracy too much trouble and prefer Putin-like leadership, Wałęsa told the Rzeczpospolita daily: Bill Clinton spoke the truth and there is no need for him to apologise to Poles.
Clintons statement has sparked outrage in the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party and prompted demands for an apology.
Wałęsa said in the interview that democracy in his country is not as beleaguered as it is in Russia under Putin, but claimed that Poland is already moving along such a trajectory.
Wałęsa considers the Law and Justice partys high ratings in opinion polls an outcome of promises made to voters during last years parliamentary campaign. The masses are not yet ready to take to the streets, as they are still working out whats more beneficial for them, he said.
Once two million Poles come out to demonstrate, I shall join them. [For now] I am waiting for a referendum on removing the Law and Justice government.
Has Soros located another target?
Former communist agent Walesa...
Soros and his NWO is under all out assault globally and is getting pushed back. The military industrial complexes of this country are pushing back. He will get crushed here and get pushed back in Austria. He is outgunned and out financed this time around.
It is all about worldwide left willingness to impose cultural Marxism. They just rigged Austrian elections, damn democrats!
It’s not that democracy is too much trouble, it’s that they fundamentally don’t understand it, they’ve never had it, and in general they much prefer simply being told what to do.
What's more, the current President has a record support in these days of 60-40% to an opposition B. Komorowski.
So, take FAZ, SDZ or any other Goebbels-like crap and read about "the falling Poland" enjoying yourself like a sissy boy.
Yay!
Bill Clinton spoke the truth ...”
This is all about the EU hating Poland for not accepting Muslim invaders into the country.
I don’t think Germany is Poland’s problem for the present, or foreseeable future.
Nor am I crying, crying. Either.
Me too. :)

Former ruling circles, Merkel’s henchmen, are crying for the lost power, that’s all.
About 100,000 people lost their VERY well paid posts in state run companies like ORLEN, etc. where they earned (in the most shocking cases) 1.5 mln Euros yearly. So, nowadays they go to German TVs, newspapers, etc. saying everywhere that “democracy is over in Poland”. Why? They try to mobilize the EU public to influence the Polish govt to make it weak or even abolished.
The last rally in Warsaw is the best example. During the rally they announced to the world that 240,000 people took to the streets to protest against the government. This “news” was immediately spread all around Europe. Yet, a week later, Gazeta Wyborcza, which is a staunch opposition!, using the head-to-head method, counted and verified all of them and the result was 55.600 people.
But, the figure 240,000 went to the world and after that (you are a good example) who cares to re-tell the truth?
Btw, just like in Putin’s Russia, the Civic Platform organized massive transports of their party members to Warsaw with their families, paid for hotels, etc. This manipulation had the unprecedented proportions, Poland has never seen before.
So, “Poland drowns”, as the German press says... LOL
My wife is pro-PiS and while I support the PiS's social conservatism, I'm a bit leery of some of the things they are doing
At the same time, the media is out to get them -- like the entire blah-blah about the constitutional court forgets that the previous government changed the court's constitution just before moving out
