One of the two big dominoes in the Hillary Clinton email controversy toppled today: The State Department's inspector general released its report on the email practices of Clinton and a number of other past secretaries of state. (The other major domino is, of course, the FBI investigation into Clinton's decision to exclusively use a private email server while serving as the nation's top diplomat.)
The report, which you can read in its entirety here, badly complicates Clinton's past explanations about the server and whether she complied fully with the laws in place governing electronic communication. And it virtually ensures that Clinton's email practices will be front and center in Donald Trump's fusillade of attacks against her credibility and honesty between now and Nov. 8.
Here's the key passage from the Roz Helderman and Tom Hamburger's article on the report:

Well, she can always count on the pro-scumbag vote and of course all the Gimedats. While anyone who cares about the future of America will be voting for Trump.
As soon as she has enough pledged delegates to make Sanders impossible, Obama is going to drop the hammer.
And we haven’t gotten to the financial shenanigans at the Clinton Foundation yet. The simmering scandal at the Clinton Foundation could result in jail time, gigantic fines and potentially many, many millions owed in back taxes to multiple national tax authorities.
“The next domino should be Blumenthal. The NSA already called him out. With Guccifer signed up to plead guilty in the next few days, the FBI has Blumenthal cold.”
I assume the FBI is having plea deal/immunity conversations with Blumenthal as I type this.
Il Douche has to utter only two words to make this all go away: You’re Pardoned.
I agree. I think she viewed it as a way she could scrub any documents she didn’t want reviewed. It has come back to bite her on the a$$. Glad to see it.
“But there was no intent, so nothing will be done.”
As I recall (it was many years ago that had a secret clearance when working in DC), intent is irrelevant to the crime of mishandling classified material.
I think the intent came when she set up the private server in her basement. Not every government employee does that.
Let's talk about Trump...
Given State Department's history of "foot dragging" and "soft peddling" of any adverse information and evidence against Madam Benghazi, I'm betting that there are several elements in play here:
1. While the State Dept Inspector General HAD to conduct an investigation after a number of facts became public knowledge, I'm guessing they were "soft peddled" in order to put Her Heinous in the best light possible, given the circumstances.
2. I have absolutely no doubt that the Clinton Crime Syndicate and Hellory's campaign were given advanced copies of the report and the release was fully coordinated in order to do as little damage as possible;
3. Release of this report allows The Beast to claim publicly that this is 'Old News' when the FBI releases their report, and also takes advantage of the public's short attention span.
4. The emphasis that previous secretaries had violated the rules was probably inserted to make it appear that she was just conducting "business as usual" and that speed and expedience was more important than adhering to security standards;
The last I read Blumenthal was noncommittal when asked about his status. It was just announced that Guciffer took the plea deal. Obama hates Blumenthal. It will be interesting to see if the DOJ empanels a grand jury to hear Guccifer’s testimony implicating Blumenthal and Clinton.
If they handle Blumenthal like Petraeus, they’ll call him in and present their case against him. At that point it’s let’s make a deal time. Getting indicted probably isn’t on his bucket list
Elizabeth Warren already prepping to be Biden’s VP.
I figure the more it looks like Trump is going to win anyway, the more the Bezos newspaper will hit Hillary.
JMHo
But that is the excuse the DoJ will use for not prosecuting her: There was no ‘criminal intent’ so no action will be taken.
Remember, the Lords of the Beltway are not judged by the same laws as the rest of us.
“But that is the excuse the DoJ will use for not prosecuting her: There was no criminal intent so no action will be taken.”
Then that will be just one more example of the Obama DoJ explicitly flaunting the letter and the spirit of the law.
Boom. Guccifer pleaded guilty today per DRUDGE.
I think that intent or no intent, there is now unknown information in unknown hands particularly as regards the Department of State and that that alone disqualifies the then Secretary of State from ever holding any government office again.
Based on my experience with OIG at the agency where I worked, I would guess that the OESP auditors were not happy with the way Secretary Clinton skirted the rules. I’m fairly certain that the IT Security staff and NARA records officer for State would have been highly upset and were more than happy to fully cooperate with the auditors. Read what the report says about Hillary starting on page 39 or 83.
Her spokesman Fallon is going with the meme ‘everybody did it”. He sounds like a fool.
