Not only does Erick Erickson want Mitt Romney to restart a search for a third-party candidate to challenge Donald Trump, he also wants Romney to consider being that person.

The conservative blogger wrote for The Resurgent on Friday that he would "gladly work for a Romney Presidency given the choices between" Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton and Trump. . . . Romney has also refused to back the presumptive Republican nominee, attacking Trump for refusing to release his tax returns and previously saying "Trumpism has become associated with racism, misogyny, bigotry, xenophobia, vulgarity and, most recently, threats and violence."

If Romney did run again (and likely lose, again), he would be a hat-trick loser also-ran.

Based on CNN’s latest estimate, Trump is 8 delegates away from the 1237.

There will not be much the ‘committees’ and convention can do to change things, since Trump will hold a majority of delegates to vote on any changes.

Romney, Erickson, Cruz, Levin, et al, need to realize: it is over, except for primaries in the 5 remaining states.
