The Romanian hacker who claimed he easily breached Hillary Clintons personal email server is finalizing a plea deal with the FBI and U.S. attorney, Fox News has learned.
Marcel Lehel Lazar, the 44-year-old hacker also known as Guccifer, first gave indications he wanted to cooperate with the U.S. government in mid-April, during an interview with Fox News. Lazar, in a subsequent discussion, said he was working on a plea deal he then suspended media contact earlier this month.
On Monday, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia confirmed that a change of plea hearing is now scheduled for Lazar on Wednesday morning. He originally had pleaded not guilty to the nine-count indictment when he was extradited to the U.S.
He is now expected to plead guilty to some charges.
It is not publicly known whether the deal being worked out has a provision for cooperating with federal authorities and whether that has anything to do with the investigation into Clintons exclusive use of a private email server for government business while secretary of state.
But an intelligence source familiar with the FBI probe said if Guccifer pleads guilty to compromising Clinton aide Sidney Blumenthals AOL account which is one of the nine charges it will show that Clintons use of a personal server put sensitive information outside secure government channels and made it accessible to foreign hackers.
[Clintons] gross negligence allowed this material to get out to an adversary, the source said. Through her communications with Blumenthal, [Clinton] contributed exposure and risk.

I felt like I had traveled back in time to the 90's when Bubba opined every night on the tv, "no one's sayin' Ah did anythin' wrong." My God, will we have to put up with that again for the next nine years?
I can name numerous laws that Hillary broke. One of the most promising areas of inquiry is the feeding of classified info to Sid, who in turn sent it to his pay-for-play clients (hereinafter known as "Donors to the Clinton Foundation").
That's why Gruccifer's plea may be so important. He may have records of those types of deals.
So he’s talking with the feds to avoid prosecution, while the criminal hillary gets a free pass.
Give us everything you got or we kill you and your entire extended family.
Bern the witch!
If Hillary’s secret emails weren’t hacked, which she and the media swear is the case, then why does he have to plea to anything? I mean, if he didn’t breach her email, what is the crime?
That is the way it always goes when it involves Hillary. Haven’t you learned that by now?
It’s very slowly coming out that she has broken laws and lied.
Of course her story, and she’s sticking to it is she broke no laws and the leftist media is backing her 100%.
Like you say, this could be very important.
It’s pretty safe to say they were hacked and not by just this hacker alone. No matter how cool Hillary acts she has to be on the verge of a breakdown.
Because Clinton was passing around sensitive information, outside secure government channels, and made it accessible to foreign hackers.
The details of any plea deal would naturally be sealed from public view, which is entirely appropriate. Unfortunately, that arrangement will suit Hillary just fine as long as the FBI waffles when the DOJ refuses to bring charges.
Way last summer he said he would cooperate with US authorities when the time is right.
Apparently the time is right!
The deal is ‘ keep quite, and you skate’.
Clinton has an illegal server full of unsecured classified documents, and that’s cool. The guy who hack in to see them, and tells the world, is in trouble.
Got it.
Unnamed sources say the deal gives Guccifer time served and $1 million for testifying that he was unable to hack Hillary’s server due to its incredible security, and, er.., the emails he wasn’t able to see on it were all about yoga classes and wedding plans.
It’s a way for the FBI to prove her emails were intercepted.
After writing these questions, it makes the computer sound like a hub for America's enemies, and Clinton as a traitorous enemy of state.
