When was this? We lived there from 1970 to 1975. We went to the pool and the beach at the Navy base, and played with kids in our neighborhood, either in people's yards, the street, or undeveloped desert-scrub area.
My son was born there.
My dad was XO of 32nd St Naval Station from 1970 to 1977. I finished junior high to grad school in that interval. Dad and I redesigned part of the pool filter pumps and pipes for the pool at Admiral Baker field. Pumps were starved as originally installed.
Rice Canyon and Bats Canyon were my motocross playgrounds. All covered with houses and businesses now.
