Wal-Mart for trophy wives and effete poodle-carrying metrosexual men.
Panic because they cannot un-do this decision without triggering the Mother of All Hissy-Fits from the usual suspects.
What did they expect?
Allow pedophiles and perverts in the restroom and nobody will go there.
My wife stopped shopping at target the day after they announced their perverted policy.
Target reported a lower-than-expected increase
but we obviously had no way of knowing if people were actually boycotting the store.

I’m not a boycott kind of guy, but I’m not going back. Too many other options.
Target uses very divisive political and social issues for cheap marketing and branding.
Its a very dangerous game. They got away with the crony-capitalist-plays-hip progressive-game for years, so felt quite emboldened - but now the SHTF for them.
It is totally deserved.

The title is kind of over the top
TGT is down 7% today and the stock has had a heck of a lot better performance this year than Macy’s or Kohls.
The first rule of business; don’t give the public what you think they SHOULD want.
The Target CEO would have been much better off to say nothing and let us think he is stupid instead of speaking up and removing all doubt.
Before everyone shouts. Look at other retail stocks and see if they are down or up. It may not have been a good quarter for most retail stocks
I suspect that 1.2 million is just the ones who signed the petition. Many many more have developed some discomfort at the prospect of going back into that store and go to WalMart instead but they don't sign petitions. I don't ever sign petitions but I am irrelevant to this because I don't go into Target, ever, for other reasons.

I pretty much gave up on Target after the credit card fiasco a while back. I’d go with my wife on occasion and strictly on a cash basis.
I didn’t go that much before then. I believe in spreading my business around some, but now, they have nothing to offer.
What? The perverts don’t spend enough to cover this loss? That’s pretty expensive bathroom admission.
