A groom in Saudi Arabia filed for divorce minutes after his wedding when his bride refused to put down her cell phone and pay attention to him, local media reported Tuesday.
The couple retired to a hotel room following the ceremony, where a relative said the unnamed woman rebuffed the mans intimate advances. The bride said she wanted to respond to her friends texts and other messages congratulating them on their wedding, according to Gulf News.
The groom asked her to delay the messages, but she refused and became angry, the relative added. When he asked her if her friends were more important than he was, the bride answered that they were.

Mr. mm and I have friends who are doing missions work in a muslim country that will remain unnmaed and he told us that the women of that country do NOT want to marry the men of that country.
Spouse abuse is rampant.
And this is one of the (by our standards) better countries. One of the freer and more western inclined ones.
you would be kicked to the curb just the same, and it would be a stain on you for the rest of your life just like it will for this woman.
Makes one wonder how how you feel about the new testaments commands for women who are told to respect and obey their husbands in all things????
you two are cracking me up.
thanks for the jovial banter, it has made me chuckle several times.
Easy come, easy go.
It always amuses me how the self-same people who demand that women obey and respect their husbands in all things completely neglect the rest of the much longer part passage addressed to the husbands that tells them to love their wives as Christ loved the church, to love their wives as they love their own bodies and don’t mistreat it but rather cherish it and nurture it, that they should lay down their lives for their wives, just like Christ laid down His life for the church, and help her become clean to be able to present her pure and spotless, holy and without blemish.
“Shes lucky he only divorced her instead of beating her up or doing an honor killing.”
Luckily for her, her husband is too high profile to bump her off : )
How much time does the average housewife on Free Republic spend on social media?
Be honest if you dare
My wife complains she is always short of time as mom and housewife
But anyone dare guess how many hours a day she is staring down at her Droid or IPad Air?
It’s ridiculous
Boomarang
Various fashion blogs
And she gets excited over hits and comments and likes
Especially her celeb friends
And she used to eschew it all
It’s a compulsion
And she ain’t alone
In today’s world you consummate your love in a relationship with your thumbs through texting ALL NIGHT LONG!
This is a SAUDI man (if such a creature exists)
If I was in an arranged marriage with a man I didn’t know and he wanted sex (and I’m sure muslim men’s reputations in bed are widespread among muslims women), I’d consider my friends more important too.
IMO, he probably did her a favor.
It was this disgusting and obvious negative attitude you have towards men that moved me to respond. The hypocricy to your name tag is also a sham.
You did not respond to scriptures except by pointing your finger at husbands. So typical. Did you read this article? Try keeping it in context...it works better.
My wife agrees that the husband in the article did the right thing...so I know that there exists women who respect the headship of marriage.
I know that a lot of western women today have the attitude that they will not honor their husbands until the husband proves to them that they deserve it. You are likely in this group...your comments lean strong in this direction. Are you married? God bless your husband if you are.
You read more into my comment that was there.
It was not against men, per se.
Your easy offense tells a lot about you.
Wishing all the best to Mr. Metmom.
I have heard that Saudi men who have a western college education are considered a better catch than other Saudi men.
I wouldn’t be surprised.
