Those places have fewer of them. Many people cover up in sunny weather, especially in states like Florida and California. They are there all the time, not vacationing there. Also, even Florida (I live in FL) is far enough north that the angle of the sun renders the UV- vitamin D producing rays much weaker, insufficient for depression treatment or for anti virus protection. Colds and Flu are endemic in Winter because of the lack of sunshine derived vitamin D. I and all my family take D-3 supplements all winter and none of us has had any virus in years. My daughter is one who was manic depressive and she has fixed all that with D-3 sups. No more Prozac.
