Who Will Be Trump's, Clinton's Vice President?
NPR ^ | May 14, 2016 | Mara Liasson

The two most important criteria are always the same:

1. Pick someone who's would ready to be president, if necessary, and
2. DO NO HARM

He's said he'd like someone with political and legislative experience to help him deal with congress, and he's also said he'd consider some of his former rivals...

1. Former opponents

Both Rick Perry and Bobby Jindal have endorsed Trump. Both are former governors. But Trump will probably win Texas and Louisiana without them...

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was one of Trump's earliest establishment endorsers.. If being an attack dog is a top requirement for a VP candidate then Christie's evisceration of Marco Rubio is a qualification/ recommendation. Then again, Trump usually takes care of those duties himself.

John Kasich, Ted Cruz and Rubio all fit Trump's criteria, though Rubio has ruled it out, and it's hard to see Kasich or Cruz on the ticket after their previous brutal fights with Trump...

2. Members of Congress — current and former

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich knows something about running against the establishment. He's made it clear he'd be happy to be on the ticket...

He is not “considered” eligible. He IS eligible. Some folks can’t get off flogging a dead horse.

There would be so much pulled from the archives, it would not be funny.

Grammar has been a lost art for some time.

The “he and I/him and me” usage is mostly incorrect now, and ‘begs the question’ surrendered its definition years ago.

The descriptivists have routed the prescriptivists in an age of not wanting to give offense.

I’m not really thinking about vice-president right now. They don’t ever seem to do anything anyway. But — I would like to see John Bolton be the secretary of state. And I would like to see Bill Gertz, Robert Spencer, and Stephen Coughlin be some of his national security/foreign policy advisors.

You don’t have any “Gotcha” on me pal.

I have actually enjoyed your posts over the years, but like so many of you Cruz supporters, I won’t anymore, yet life goes on. Some Cruz supporters came around, but some of you folks just can’t be helped. Sad.

Does anyone still think this question wouldn't have to be settled in court following a flood of lawsuits brought by high level Democrat operatives?

Donald needs someone who is Conservative, relatable, good with woman, a good communicator and nice looking. He needs someone who has been pretty well vetted. He needs someone that he likes and is a good team player. This someone should be someone he trusts and will give him sound council. Name recognition would also be a good help. He really should go with someone who could step in if needed and keep leading the Country in the right direction. He shouldn’t make the same mistake that Reagan made and saddle us with a GOPe globalist. He needs someone that is steady and preferably not too old, someone who is a learner. This someone should also have overall knowledge of world events and understand them and also knows what is going on in this Country. He should be a uniter in personality and hopefully have good repoire with other Republicans.

Who meets all of these requirements? Very few indeed. But one person does. He’s not flashy and some of freepers have made fun of him (some will make fun of almost anyone and some may be infiltrators whose goals are to discredit Conservatives). They claim he isn’t real bright because he tends to repeat himself. I think if one doesn’t repeat themselves in this age of information overload their message will be lost. They also claim he talks about himself a lot, which I have carefully examined and found to be very untrue. He may or may not be brilliant, but he is steady and will do the right thing. This is what is ultimately required in the end, someone who knows what the right thing to do is and will steadfastly do it. He seems to be a sincere believer in Jesus Christ, so he has proper motivation to do what is right even in the long run. He has quietly hoped to become President someday. I think that someday he is destined to be. Who is this person? The person is Sean Hannity. I

The only dead horse are those that willfully attempt to subvert our Constitution. Those on the so called ‘right’ will never prosper doing the leftist bidding. The framers intent still stands, in spite of the willingness of so many on the so called ‘right’. There is no wisdom messing with birthrights, which is what a ‘natural born’ US citizenship is.

Chris The Fat Ass Christie is a despicable piece of garbage. He would make a very poor choice. I personally hate this one-note jackass.

Anderson Cooper is supposed to interview Kasich on Monday night @8PM ET and the promo says he’s going to pose the question of running for Trump’s Veep!!! My problem with Kasich is that he supported NAFTA and is in favor of TPP. Kasich is also very weak on immigration.
BTW, former Vice President Dan Quayle has been touting Ohio Senator Rob Portman, who he says is strong on trade issues, in several interviews in recent days.
My first choice is Duncan Hunter!!!
Newt for chief of staff and Christie for AG.

“Ohio Senator Rob Portman”

Ooh, forgot about him! He’d be great!

Kasich is a complete rino putz, only good for winning OH, nothing else.

Trump - Cruz

The Cruzies will have to hold one nostril and vote.
The Tumpsters will have to hold the other nostril and vote.

Only one choice. He will want a person he trusts, gets along with, agrees with, and will help him gain additional votes in must win states. And that is Dr Ben Carson.

I am sure it didn’t take Trump long to figure it out. He will surround himself with others like Christie, Newt, Giuliani, and Palin to make up for any needed political insight.

Dr Carson will contrast him but opposites attract and provide the other with what they are lacking.

Mr Trump has said repeatedly that his vice president will be a politician, someone who knows the ins and outs of Washington and working with congress.

Hi Nifster,

I believe they don’t “see” because they are being paid not to see. I’m finding it pretty pointless to even respond to them anymore.

Trump already has the conservative and evangelical vote.
That’s why we see him verbally “moving to the center” a bit, to scoop up voters there.

You and I and many others know Cruz is NOT A CONSERVATIVE. He has been exposed as a fake, fraud, phony GLOBALIST, pretending to be conservative, so he could deceive them. But, in large numbers, they saw him for what he really was, and voted for the true patriot and conservative, Trump.

IMO, the only ones left wanting Cruz are the paid political operatives on the internet. PPO’s aren’t fooling many people anymore. We see right through them. They’re like flashing neon signs. We didn’t realize just how many of them there are. I’ve noticed their numbers seem to increase overnight, dramatically.

I try to avoid posting directly to them because I consider them traitors to our nation.
