David Petraeus: Be Nice To Muslims, Or They Might Blow Us Up
The Daily Caller ^ | 05/13/2016 | Jonah Bennett

Posted on 05/14/2016 7:47:37 AM PDT by Mr. Mojo

In an op-ed for The Washington Post published Friday, former CIA Director David Petraeus said increasing anti-Muslim rhetoric in the United States threatens to drive more “moderate” Muslims to terrorism.

For Petraeus, the rapid increase of ugly rhetoric against Muslims and Islam threatens to engulf even “moderate” Muslims. This is exactly what terror groups like al-Qaida and the Islamic State want, as it supports their vision of the world as one divided between the forces of Islam and the forces of the decadent, satanic west. These groups then seize on a sort of “clash of civilizations” rhetoric to drive recruitment and push moderate Muslims into their ranks.

Muslims in the West are apparently so at risk of joining up with al-Qaida, that Petraeus thinks we need to police our own speech, as not to offend them and face the potential consequence of a growing, violent fifth column taking shape in the West.

“Rather than making our country safer, they will compound the already grave terrorist danger to our citizens,” Petraeus wrote. “As ideas, they are toxic and, indeed, non-biodegradable — a kind of poison that, once released into our body politic, is not easily expunged.”

"Setting aside moral considerations, those who flirt with hate speech against Muslims should realize they are playing directly into the hands of al-Qaeda and the Islamic State,” Petraeus added. “The terrorists’ explicit hope has been to try to provoke a clash of civilizations — telling Muslims that the United States is at war with them and their religion.”

Cooperation from moderate Muslims is a key element relied upon by the American intelligence apparatus to crush domestic terror threats. To alienate those Muslims would jeopardize the ability of law enforcement to keep the nation safe, as agents would lose important assets embedded in Muslim communities.

On the international front, Petraeus noted the successful utilization of Iraqis to fight al-Qaida during the initial stages of the Iraqi invasion. Presumably, this would not have been possible with anti-Muslim rhetoric. Without those allies, more U.S. troops would’ve been needed, resulting in more casualties.

“I fear that those who demonize and denigrate Islam make it more likely that it will be our own men and women who ultimately have to shoulder more of this fight — at greater cost in dollars and lives,” Petraeus said.

Petraeus’ arguments follow in the footsteps of newly elected Muslim London Mayor Sadiq Khan that if Trump doesn’t let in Muslims, Muslims will attack America.

In fairness, Dr. Zuhdi Jasser is an anomaly. The vast majority of the world’s billion Muslims mentally support Islamic butchery, if not actually practicing it. And though Dr. Jasser is leading the way, it will take an act of God for the majority of Muslims to recognize his sanity and accept it for themselves. In the mean time, the world has to deal with hundreds of millions of murderous zombies from hell.

A devout Muslim, Dr. Jasser founded AIFD in the wake of the 9/11 attacks on the United States as an effort to provide an American Muslim voice advocating for the preservation of the founding principles of the United States Constitution, liberty and freedom, through the separation of mosque and state. Dr. Jasser is

Sorry Rudy but you can not be a devout Muslim and an American Citizen.

Islam requires the Koran to be superior to any Constitution or set of laws or morals, it is the final word on all things Islam, well except for the looney Imams that write Hadiths and Fatwahs.

And before the Christian Reformation our Religion was barbaric as well. There are others out there trying to do this as well. If they are to succeed we need to give lots of support as possible. [And NOT just money either] The LORD works through us, as tools of HIS Will. So we need to help out if we want the world to be a more peaceful place. Even if it means doing stuff that we do not like.

I say you are wrong in it’s understanding;

Try Matthew6:24; New International Version;
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

How many of us serve 2 or more masters? The same can be said of those who follow the Islamic faith & are American Citizens.

The thing is, Jesus Himself TAUGHT peace and forgiveness, and leant His grace towards those ends.

Muslims have no such moral foundation in Mohammed - rather the opposite, in fact.

Mohammedanism is rotten at its core and at its core is Mohammed.
Destroy Mohammed and you destroy Mohammedanism.

Look at the history of the Christian Religion, it was as violent at the current crop of Muslim Fundamentalist. And we need to do everything in our power to help those who are working on changing it, to something more peaceful. The seed has been planted, now we have to help it along for it to take root in their culture & the change will take place. Granted it will take time, & many lives may be lost [so while you all will be fighting, I and others like me will be working on transforming them into something less violent]
And they look upon Christ as a great Profit [but not the Son of GOD] and there is a push within the Islamic faith to listen more to the teachings of Christ & HIS Words.

“.....as part of a dual deity known as Ahura Mazda/Ahriman, a good/evil representation”

That would be Zoroastrianism, the Persian religion that was eradicated under Islam when Muslims invaded what is now Iran.

IMO, Baal became Allah, a false god of plunder and death.

Actually, some forms of Zoroastrianism still survive, as a very small sect in India, where most of the remaining practitioners of that faith fled, only to be pursued, later on, by Muslims.

But one form did survive in the Middle East, with the Kurds. Yazidism, as now practiced among some ethnic Kurds, is based in large part on Zoroastrianism, and has considerable to do with the endless persecution that Kurds endure at the hands of both Shi’ite and Sunni Muslims. In fact, the Yazidi Kurds defend their religious preferences so strongly, that most of the Islamic sects are deathly afraid of them.

Peshmerga are not just a vigilante militia. They are really motivated.

And the Pharisees, once the captives of the Persians, absorbed a LOT of the theology of Zoroastrianism. The Parsees and the Pharisees may not be all that different, both drawing from the same historical roots.

Farsi is, in its own language, a version of “Persia”. The roots of the language, and the beliefs expressed in that language, are all of a common source.

You do not understand the meaning of Christianity.

Even the Inquisition, which arguably failed to walk the Christina walk, failed to harm as many as have been slaughtered by recent episodes of Islam.

The main lesson/s from the early years of Christianity, was convert or die, & do as you are told to do by your betters or else [both have the same ending, you are killed] Pretty much sounds the same to me [don’t you] in a simplistic form.

These were basically the operating “orders” from the early Church & were NOT along the teachings of Christ but of of the men who ran things. It was about wealth & power and keeping it for themselves & using HIS name for keeping from the uneducated population/s.
I am a minor [very minor] student of history, and this is how I am seeing things. Please show me where I am wrong in my line of thought/s.
