“What I said was Trump has said in the past that running for president is not something he wanted to do.”
I know what you said. And I told you that Trump - according to people who know him - has been talking about running for president for years already. If true, that doesn’t sound like a man who doesn’t want to run for president.
“In this case he is running because he feels he has to run.”
Again, his actions make it look like he has been planning to run for years and he has talked about running before this election cycle.
“He feels his country is under threat. That is very different from actually running for the power of the position.”
Yet he is running and he has been talking about running for years.
“People often do things they do not want to do because they believe it is the right thing to do.”
True, but I cannot assume Trump is one of those people based upon his past choices. I’m not saying he’s a horrible human being. Hillary Clinton is much, much worse. Trump, however, has some serious flaws and I don’t see much of a history of him choosing against his own desires because it is the right thing to do for someone else. Was choosing to cheat on his first wife an example of his doing something he did not want to do because it is the right thing to do?
We disagree.
