Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump appears to have softened his stance on temporarily barring Muslims from travelling to the US.
Responding to remarks by London Mayor Sadiq Khan, Mr Trump told Fox News Radio the ban was "just a suggestion".

This is the BBC claiming that Trump has to ‘deal’ with Ryan and other more ‘agreeable’ politicians in the USA.
Trump has said repeatedly that his proposal to ban Muslims is only temporary until we know who is who, meaning we have a way to vet Muslim visitors to the USA.
The BBC is joining in with their leftist echo chamber that Americans are not so ‘crazy’ as to actually embrace Trump, they are trying to keep their own assured that American nationalism is overblown.
Trump will not waver because he remembers the Towers coming down on 9-11. He is going to reestablish real screening at immigration checkpoints and port of entries.
We are already here. King Obama has planted the terrorists all over America. And it is continuing. Trump wants to stop the migration until proper vetting and the legal way will be enforced.
I agree with you, but that’s not what Trump supported. He repeatedly said, “Temporary” ban on muslim immigration. I’d prefer a total ban for forever, but Trump is the only one who even offered a temporary ban. Others then jumped on board when it polled well.

The Donald is a deal maker. He'll compromise anything to do a deal, add to that he has no core principles and you got a perfect tool for the likes of Schumer and Reid. Reagan compromised, and he did make mistakes, like S1mpson/Mazzoli, but he kept his core principles in mind. When you have no principles its like setting off on a journey without maps or GPS, you'll go in whatever direction seems easiest.
The Donald is a showman and a marketeer, especially for himself, I'm just worried that he'll be the perfect lump of clay for the leftist serpents that inhabit DC. When things go wrong and the people get angry, they'll slither back into congress throwing stones, it'll be Trump that catches all the blame.
You are absolutely correct....however, closing our borders, banning Muslims until we have a handle on who is here NOW...that is the only option. Trump must make that very clear...and Paul Ryan and others must respect that and comply to the citizens demands....to heck with the status quo and socialism now so prevalent...government handouts are at an all time high...Trump knows that also must go.......

Truthfully, no they can't. As long as they are submissive to islam, there is no moderate position. They are commanded to commit global genocide and enslavement, or to provide for those that will.

I think Trump will be open to going back on what he has said, on opposing what Republicans have stood for for decades if it advances what he believes will work for him. We might see this come about because so many of his statements seem inherently contradictory.

What you just said there sounds naive to me. A number of people have said that he has talked about running for president for a number of years already. I don’t assume he’s doing it merely out of altruism. He’s a billionaire, people say, he doesn’t need this. True, he doesn’t need the money. I think this is more about ego. I think Trump will be surprised about how intractable government can be. We’ll see.

First, what does he believe? Seriously, what does Trump really believe? Why does he walk back, lessen, or change so many things he previously said?

Other than getting himself elected, I don’t know what Trump’s goals are. What does he really believe in besides himself and some vague (and with him, inarticulate) sense of the greatness of America? Is he going to try to balance the budget and pay off our debts? How? He says he’ll strengthen our military. How? How do you spend more on the military (which we need) while cutting the budget? How do you get Democrats in Congress to agree to vote for it? How to you get Republicans (these days) to do it? How is he going to bring jobs back from Asia? How will he do it while now talking about how he might be open to raising the minimum wage? And by the way, I am not saying that Trump should give away his bargaining chips ahead of time and reveal how he will do these things. I actually agree with him on one level when he says he doesn’t want to reveal his cards too early. Okay, fine. What I’m saying is that after listening to him for months now, I still have no idea if he even understands any of the major issues confronting the country. I have no idea. . . and it’s not from a lack of trying on my part. I have watched dozens of hours of his speeches and interviews, read his interviews, and I still have no idea what he knows. Just last night his son Eric admitted he and his brother (and Ivanka, of course) are his principal advisers. I have no doubt that they can help him with his campaign for the nomination but who is helping him prepare for Hillary? Who is advising him on military issues? International affairs? Terrorism? Trade with Asia, the TPP? Who? Apparently, no one really.
Trump was a Democrat for decades. In many ways, I think he still is and many people who support him are doing to him what Democrats did to Obama in 2008. People ignored the outrageously stupid things Obama said in 2008 because they wanted a messiah to save them. And the press covered for Obama. Now people are ignoring that Trump really seems to have no principles, little understanding of the U.S. Constitution, or how the government works in a republic, or international affairs. And the press is NOT covering for him and it doesn’t matter.

Nope. I have been cheering for his battle against Political Correctness throughout the primary season. I like his tax plan. I like the fact that he loves America and is supportive of our troops. The problem is I can’t tell what his real principles are and I’m not sure what he really believes. I see things as they are. He’s not perfect, far from it. I’ll vote for him over Hillary any day, but I do not know for sure if he’ll be a good president or not. Millions are in the same boat. They’ll vote for Trump, but they have grave reservations about his knowledge, competence, and abilities.
You know what, I’m a Trump supporter, but this nonsense of, “...are you just another Trump hater?” does neither Trump nor your argument any good at all. Throughout the remainder of this campaign and throughout the course of his term in office, he will be subject to the same scrutiny as anyone else. While I support him and will vote for him (unless something drastic occurs), I drink Kool-Aid for no one. Like any candidate, we will need to remind him of why we voted for him anytime he appears to be waffling on any topic.
As for your claim that he “did NOT want to run for president” and has said so many times in the past, the truth of the matter is that he considered a run for president in 1988 and has done so several times since (1988, 1999, 2004 and 2012). Ergo, you can’t honestly characterize him as a reluctant candidate.
And, to answer your question as to why he might compromise on the issues that will bring him the nomination, that’s easy: To gain the support and funding of the RNC and win the presidency, which is going to cost $1-1.5 billion.
So in other words, Mr. Trump says things he doesn't really mean, but it's okay because he is not a politician, right ?
What I said was Trump has said in the past that running for president is not something he wanted to do. In this case he is running because he feels he has to run. He feels his country is under threat. That is very different from actually running for the power of the position.
People often do things they do not want to do because they believe it is the right thing to do.
