Each election has what become its accepted narratives: themes that, over time, gel into what are considered reliable facts that are no longer vetted or questioned. As the Democratic campaign finally wraps up, its time to put two persistent ones to bed: Hillary Clinton is unpopular and limping to a finish, and Bernie Sanders is a progressive from way outside the system.
Neither could be farther from the truth.

It’s interesting to watch this fight. The comments on the original thread show the dissension within their ranks.

Yeah, it is. I actually am starting to think Bernie isn’t in on the secret that the Dem nomination is fixed. That said, if he was really mad or really wanted it, wouldn’t he be screaming about the superdelegates? And every time he wins it gets him no closer?
Ah, let him alone - just an old guy in his second childhood - reliving the glory days of his youth when he was going to change the world and get rid of all those dirty mean greedy types - now he’s the one obsessed with how much others earn and wanting to help himself to their money for his precious projects - he’s become what he hated.....

Hillary is unpopular because people see her for what she is.
I live in the Silicon Valley and I have yet to see a single Hillary bumper sticker. I have seen many Bernie stickers and a few Bernie billboards.
She is in real trouble with the college kids. My son goes to SJSU and in his informal polling has not turned up a single Hillary voter.
Sanders has had far more power at his disposal than these wealthy people could ever hope to conspire to.
