Gingrich is great for consideration for VP, I’d support that ticket enthusiastically, but Newt would make a better Chief of Staff probably, unless he starts pushing a cabinet of neocons.

No one has mentioned Santorum. Probably for good reason. Rubin and Cruz are out for VP but may be offered cabinet posts.
VPs rarely get to be Prez....It should NOT be considered as part of the criteria.
Trump selects Newt as VP.
They win.
Trump serves 2 or 3 years..enough to get his agenda well underway...then he resigns and goes back to his business empire.
Newt takes the big chair...and selects a younger man to be the heir apparent for 2020.
Trump gets to see his wall built, immigration enforced, trade deals fixed...etc
Newt gets what he always wanted... the presidency.. even if only for a short time.
We get a new VP, someone young, conservative and energetic.
