Former Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz returned to his job in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday with a warning to Washington that the turbulent primary race was a wake-up call.
"All across this country people are hungry for change. This election cycle should be a wake-up call to Washington, D.C.," the senator from Texas said outside his office. "The frustration and volcanic anger with Washington was echoed throughout this election."
Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders have upended expectations in their respective presidential campaigns, tapping into voter anger at establishment politicians in Washington. Cruz, a favorite of the conservative Tea Party movement, also tried to position himself as an outsider.
However, he dropped out of the Republican race a week ago after a crushing loss in Indiana and a brutal campaign in which Trump attacked Cruz's wife and father and constantly derided the senator as "Lyin' Ted."
Cruz ruled out a third-party candidacy, and said the democratic process had run its course............
Cruz may be hoping to put his conservative imprint on the party's July 18-21 national convention in Cleveland.
On Monday, he said he would not release delegates he had won in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, according to news reports.

Cruz is holding on to the bulk of his delegates. Need to check state party rules and see how many are bound to oblige his grip.
Maybe he should try some anger management classes.
Actually, why doesn’t he just shut up and do some paperwork.
Being back in reality, Cruz is a very conservative guy.
Having his delegates vote as a block on conservative issues is good for the country.
Maybe the Chaplain of the Senate could appoint Cruz as assistant Chaplain?
Ted gives a good sermon, that would be something suitable to his talents.
It does not matter how many delegates Cruz has. Unless Trump rips off his face and reveals himself as a terminator robot from the future, he is going to win.
He is right, you all know.
Cruz is the establishment problem and just doesn’t really get it. Trump is the outsider with very wise solutions to quite a few problem facing America. Hope it works out for our side.
Trump for President.
Anything to shut him up. Bury him in the chapel.
He can sit in a bowl of Cheetos and put his buttprint on stuff for all I care. He’s done.
“Maybe he should try some anger management classes.”
Did you even read the article?
Regardless, Revolution is on!
He’s correct from what I have found with a cursory check:
Kansas: 24 Delegates -National Convention Delegates are bound unless released by the candidate. [Section VI. 1., 2.D., and 3.]
OK: 15 Delegates - Delegates are bound until released. “Each delegate ... to the national convention ... shall cast their vote on all ballots for the candidate ... If that candidate is ... no longer a candidate, the votes ... shall be cast for any candidate of their choice.” [Oklahoma Statutes §26-20-104 G.]
Texas- 104- Couldn’t locate this, but I’m sure it is similar to KS & OK
Cruz, please DROP OUT, release your delegates, go home if Heidi will let you, return to the Senate, which is supposedly your day job. Lyn’ Ted, face it, you lost. No one wants you any anything that you do or cause that impedes Trumps victory will not be forgotten.
Nope.
He is talking about the voters expressing their anger with DC politics this election season. Are you always so unpleasant?
So Ted Moses is going to DC and shoot lighting bolts out of his rear end? I guess Beck will be there for the fasting and stuff.
Lots of anger about CO not getting to vote, but Ted didn’t seem mad at all
cRuz.....release the anger....release the delegates.
