Excellent post. Excellent tagline. I don’t agree with everything you said. For example, I do believe Trump is sincere (though not as conservative on some issues). But I do think what you said was well said. You are right about mostly agree on important issues.

I would like to add one more thought: not only is Trump more electable (Cruz would have been Goldwater’16), but more able to get his way with congress.

I wasn't as clear as I could have been. I think Trump is sincere, but I'm not as certain as I'd like to be or as I am with Cruz.

The next president will be a Dictator. He will either be a failed dictator or he will be a powerful one. That is the system under which we now live. Congress has mostly abdicated its powers to the USSC and to the Executive. Congress cannot take th lost powers back. The States could with an Article 5 Convention but the progress of the Total Bureaucratic State is too far gone and is too swift for that to be effective unless it were to happen THIS YEAR. Cruz, even did he retain his composure and his integrity, would be the failed Dictator and the power that he would forswear would continue in the Agencies, not redevolve on Congress. Trump can and probably would be a successful dictator. We have to pray that he will use that power to abolish the Agencies in toto and to impel- not force- a Convention and then resign or decline to run again if that Convention produces the return of power to the States.

I fear it is all wishful thinking because the necessary Napoleon is apt to turn out to be Napoleon after all.
