When there are serious and or fatal collisions there are formal investigations to determine the cause and who was at fault.

Whether you die from a crash or survive with injuries is moot if the driver is intoxicated. And the chances of a person being intoxicated increased with pot becoming legal.
Before pot was legal:
Accidents from alcohol = x.
After pot was legal:
Accidents from alcohol = x.
Accidents from pot = y.
x + y > x.

Here are CDOT statistics. Make of them what you will. It looks like the number of drugged driving fatalities has gone down but the percentages of victims with marijuana in their systems has gone up. So maybe it is less likely to kill you than previously popular drugs of choice?
