Ted Cruz is not releasing his delegates in at least three states, a sign he may hold onto some clout at this summer's Republican National Convention.
Cruz sent a letter to Republican state parties in at least Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas on Monday informing them that he plans to keep the delegates he won bound to him...
Trump is the presumptive nominee and is on a path to clinch the 1,237 delegates needed to earn it on the first ballot, but holding on to his delegates could help Cruz exercise at least some control over convention rules and procedures.

Look for Rubio and Kasich to free up theirs.
No big deal. Probably just biding (not Biden) his time so as to make a gesture at his own chosen time.
Stay classy Ted.
“...Cruz...pipe dream...”
Yes. Please go away Cruz.
Trump will absolutely pick up even more delegates at the convention.
Especially since Trump will have knocked down Hillary’s poll numbers significantly by then.
Cruz wants to use his delegates as leverage to add bathroom regulations to the GOP platform.
trump already handled that
Cruz should be recalled.
Cruz reminds me of the little old lady who won’t put her house in a trust so her favorite niece who cares for her can inherit it. The old lady is fearful and doesn’t make smart decisions, now Uncle Sam owns the house.
I don't see anything wrong with this. He fought a hard campaign. If it give him a little leverage on issues important to the people that voted for him, that is not a bad thing.
Cruz is dead to me.
Maybe Lu can stay home with his good buddies Mitt and Yeb!
Cruz is done, has been and has completely ruined his political career...go get a real paying job..
Cruz is a pissant! He is also incredibly stupid!
Totally agree. He is beyond hopeless. Good riddance.
“Whatever Cruz thinks he is going to do is a pipe dream.”
Delegates are real people with real lives and most of them don’t want to be the center of public controversy. Their position, if it’s against the will of the voters in their state, sounds lovely until the reality hits that they have to go home and their votes and names are public information. I doubt that if they think they will be shunned at home for creating a messes in Cleveland they will most likely cave to the will of the people and not to Ted’s visions of grandeur.
No there is nothing wrong with it. The rules give him the rights. But things are moving so fast though that Cruz will find he has very little to say by the time he gets there.
Cruz is on Beck right now, but I can’t bring myself to listen...
Look for Rubio and Kasich to free up theirs.

Don’t count on it. Rubio fought to get his slate elected in Florida long after he dropped out. I even heard Chris Christie was putting up his own slate in New Jersey.
It would be silly for any of them to release them before the convention.
