This story is an example why the republican party consistently loses against the progressive left. In response to the ridiculous, albeit recent, NC bathroom laws (which the MSM are having fun bashing conservatives on the head with) the Ted Cruz constituency wants to write bathroom laws into the 2016 republican party platform.
Yes, yes, unfortunately thats the modern right-wing cultural GOPe. Look over there, shiny thing, shiny thing quick, go chase it .. quick make a law to control it . bathrooms, gays, transgenders oh noes, the humanity !
WASHINGTON DC After he lost the Republican nomination, Sen. Ted Cruzs backers will now reportedly pivot towards trying to gain control of the GOPs platform during the national convention.
According to The New York Times, top Cruz aide Ken Cuccinelli wrote in an email to supporters urging them to come to Cleveland in July to protect against liberal changes to our platform. Cuccinelli confirmed the effort to the Times, telling them that Cruzs backers seek to protect movement conservatism, including a firming of the partys core positions on abortion and the addition of language regarding transgender bathroom use.
We want to have girls go in girls bathrooms, he said, alluding to how presumptive nominee Donald Trump has taken a more liberal position than Cruz on which bathrooms transgender individuals can use. (read more)
Bathroom monitors? Really? Thats what the Ted Cruz wing of the republican party is worried about being the bathroom police?
Personally, Ive come to the conclusion the GOPe actually meets behind mahogany doors and picks out things -intentionally- to make issues out of and give the republican party the public appearance of insane nuttery. Ive come to believe they do this on purpose as party of the entire construct of the UniParty
. there can be no other reasonable explanation.

OK, please report back to us once you have committed the crime. OK?
You are being badly misled by believing that godless courts will help you or stand up for you.
Wow. The Cruz folks were not happy with killing their own campaign....now they want to screw up Trumps? Thanks, but NFW.
That is such a ridiculous straw man. It simply exposes your ignorance and paranoia.
You Bet.
Those are not conservative issues. They are religious issues.
Part of the reason Cruz got shellacked is because he doesn’t know the difference.
They might have managed to show their righteousness a little more credibly than by sending out misleading letters, making misleading statements, being constitutionally dubious as to NBC, etc. Then even if Trump bested them, they might have managed to win more respect for their ideas.
Because it’s more about them than it is about what’s right all across the board, they are poised to look weak and lose.
We are watching as soon as you do. Please link to news article for credibility.
It seems foolish in the extreme to go after the DOJ at this point when he will be appointing all new people. The fact that the DOJ is so out of line will help to bring people out to vote in Nov.
Have you watched Manafort speak? One of the reasons he does so well is that he sticks to the main points and refuses to get drawn into specifics such as how Hillary Clinton injured the women Bill assaulted.
Once you open an area for discussion you do not control the direction of the discussion and the Left uses the opportunity to lie & spin. They already paint the GOP as hating LGBT, women, Blacks, Hispanics, Muslim etc. The Left is neither logical, fair nor principled. Giving them ammunition may feel like standing up for your beliefs but its like the British who lost the war by standing up in plain view to be slaughtered while the Americans fought more flexibly and won.
The majority of Americans agree with socially conservative beliefs and once Trump is in office rolling back the bureaucracy we will start to dismantle the mess the Liberals have made. States will be free to have the 10 commandments on view; we will be able to judge people on their achievements and character.
There are already laws for that. You might want to do some research on that. It will come in handy when using the outhouse behind the church.
Yea, I’m sure this is going to be debated on it’s merits. It’s just an issue that the Democrats will hammer home for 6 months and the media aren’t going to be honest about it. It’s just making things easy for them. Moreover, this is not for the Federal government to decide. Also, there is the obvious idea that this is completely unenforceable. The lawsuit of the first unattractive women to be denied access because people thought she was born a man would actually be quite funny and may be worth losing the election over. I jest
Agreed: Trump is far more about being reasonable than the Obama regime has been. Maybe he doesn’t ask God for forgiveness, but he has no problem with America wanting to do so publicly.
“It already is illegal to expose oneself regardless of the gender.”
Not anymore. Not in a women’s restroom or shower etc...
And if someone complains about a naked man in a women’s/girl’s shower, say at a public pool, the complainer is the criminal.
See 173.
You are very uninformed on the current state of affairs.
Obviously I agree with you that boys in the boys bathroom and girls in the girls bathroom. Trannies can look quite deceptive though, maybe they should have their own bathroom? I just think this issue is a dumb issue to debate. What do I care what bathroom someone wants to use. I have, on more than one occasion, gone in the bushes. This is not even close to the same thing as fighting for life
Second sentence. Hard to miss.
You guys all think that trannies are child molesters—which is the tone used before. Child molestation is illegal. Although in your neck of the woods, the child may be bound by the marital privilege.
Your ignorance is stunning.
Or the either-sex restroom right next to the chapel.
Anyhow it’s possible to get too invested in this. It becomes a kind of spiritual onanism, if the pun may be understood.
Often situations where public practice would itself have evolved to meet new challenges have been headed off by one size fits all laws. And not always to the good. The public has made it clear that an approach like Target’s isn’t acceptable. But nobody is ginning up million signature boycotts on places that had mixed-sex rest rooms to begin with.
Now you’ve begun making things up.
He’s tapping out his response.
