I have an anecdote that demonstrates this.
A high school classmate is part of the gay scouting movement. A few years ago, he would post on Facebook about what racist, homophobic, wife beating Neanderthals the scouts were.
The scouts relented to this pressure, and allowed gay scouts but not gay leaders. Less than an hour after this major victory, he was back at it - calling the scouts racist, homophobic, wife beating Neanderthals because they wouldn’t accept gay leaders.
So, the scouts relented on this, and now allow gay leaders with one caveat - if a sponsoring church was against gay leaders, they could opt out. Still a major victory. But, because of the caveat, in less than an hour he was back at it, calling the scouts racist, homophobic, wife beating Neanderthals.
To me, this is a case study in how liberals operate. They are like a ratchet, and never give an inch - only move in one direction. There is no way to compromise. And, deep down inside, most liberals would just as soon kill a conservative, rather than have a ‘spirited debate’.
What you see is the Hegelian Dialectic being used.
The US term for it is incrementalism. Liberals call it progress.
We never bothered queers. Libs want to control our thought and speech. Good luck with that. We will go underground and plot their demise.
I told him that I was conservative, and thus needed to be educated on how I could recognize the achievement of perfect social justice. What would American social justice look like?

We could end up like North Korea and Leftists will never be satisfied. These people must be stopped, and elections alone cannot reverse the rot.
