On Mother's Day, President Obama wants to talk to you about the "diaper gap."
In a post on Medium for the holiday, Mr. Obama explained that many low-income families struggle to afford diapers for their young children, a trend that can lead to health and well-being issues for not only the children but for the mothers.
"I can't imagine what it would have been like to be a parent that has to choose between diapers and other basic expenses," he wrote. "Access to clean diapers isn't just important for a child's health and safety. Research has shown that mothers who are unable to afford diapers for their babies are more likely to suffer from maternal depression and mental health issues."

Surprisingly (not really) terms like “homeless problem” disappeared from general media usage in Jan 2009.
Yet the have cell phones, cable TV, and Internet.
They need to use the re-useable and washable cloth diapers. Worked for all my kids.
Exactly. For goodness sakes. What did mothers do before disposable diapers? They had cloth ones and washed them by hand! He panders to things that upset people, a seductive way to gain their support. But, he does nothing to empower them by advising them to perhaps try washing diapers. He does nothing to get people to get out of their own negativity and strive to work and be creative with what they have and work for more.
I needed a good laugh today.
Cloth diapers were my immediate thought as well.
Of course then they would want a government provided washer and dryer...and rubber pants. But that maybe cheaper in the long run. Those disposable diapers are pricey.
The Obama counterpart to the right’s bathroom panic. Both focused on the same general area of human function.
But doesn’t all the extra solid waste exacerbate the globull warming?
Racist? My wife and I are black.
It’s because the leaches make other things their priority, instead of their children.
I have three in diapers right now. I shop sales, use coupons and discounts. You’d never see me in line for gobment freebies.
Kids are “punishment” and Barack is making out to be “merciful.”
Nah...only cow poots do that. ;)
This makes me furious.
Buy cloth diapers and wash them———much cheaper.
The laziness astonishes me.
.
“Racist? My wife and I are black.”
That just makes it doubly so, lol
I forgot to add, I’m also a product tester for diapers through various companies. Every little bit helps!
What is wrong with cloth diapers and washing them once a day? You can wash them in the kitchen sink or bathtub, if need be, and hang them up overnight to dry.
This is absolutely the silliest thing I ever heard!
Next thing...you are gonna want them to cook instead of going out to eat or bring home fast food.
You are a brute! A brute I tell ya! /s
I’d be happy to cloth diapers, detergent, and a clothes line for any needy mother.
The poor should not have to go out and work or stand in line at the welfare office. Everything should just be delivered to their house, and the government should pay for it all.
Those idiots that go out and work for a living should have to pay for themselves plus everybody else. The middle class went to college and were responsible enough to pay off their college loans, pay their mortgages and pay their taxes on time. So of course now they need to pay for everybody else. That’s the new american way. /sarc.
