I rather intellectually light opinion piece. Like a supporter of no conviction who had to turn in a homework assignment.
My only comment would be his point on Trump not being a free trader. Trump is a free trader. A free trader wants to show a profit or a strategic transaction in order to make a bigger profit.
But American politicians trade in a different currency. In the past we offered lopsided trades for good will and valuable considerations in global politics and all that good will and valuable considerations have been all spent.
Now it’s about the money. Remove the politicians and send in the money men. Because I don’t like globalism, but if it’s happening, I want the U.S to be the one determining the terms of globalization.
Trump is reintroducing a time old and successful theory of trade called protectionism. Levin has it backwards because Trump is no globalist, he is a protectionist.
Levin is being totally dishonest.
Trump is not proposing a 40% tariff on imports.
He is proposing threatening tariffs on imports from countries that do not allow the US equal access to their markets.
The is a difference between thretening and acting without first negotiating.
Levin knows that. He is beginning to sound like Glenn Beck.

Unfortunately, Levin happens to be on the right side of this issue. Trump is a smart guy. He surely knows that huge tariffs on imports would be an economic disaster. He is not going to make that kind of mistake. Wiser heads, hired by Trump, will get him squared away.
He so mischaracteruzws what trump has said.

good grief, levin. i’m still a great admirer of your past work on conservatism. come on now, it’s time to eat some humble pie and try to understand that our Lord may be using trump in some historic fashion against the uniparty that ails all of us. seriously, have you fought the gopes all these years just to join them now? are you sure your old boss RR would be with you against trump?
on balance, the evidence now is such that trump is a true uniparty outsider. that’s a good thing. trump is attracting some good people like sen. sessions, palin, etc. what he’s doing and saying so far is really very good. he’s proven himself as a campaigner. what he’ll actually do as pres; no one really knows, including you, but come on now, get a grip. we all know what hillary or bernie will do.

Trump is in favor with voluntary commerce and trade with other countries. As a matter of fact he wants companies in America to be able to engage in it on fairer terms.
Trump is implicitly the candidate of the white majority. He has not gone so far as openly campaigning on race like many black candidates and Latino’s do, but it is a powerful subtext of his campaign.
Many of the intellectual elite of the conservative movement are Jewish, and are very uncomfortable with this. White people rising to support themselves and assert their power as a group is viewed as inherently “fascist”. Look at how many times Trump has been called fascist by the press in this race.
The entire neo-conservative movement has come unglued over trump. Kristol, Max Boot, Elliot Abrams, Jonah Goldberg. All of the leading Jewish conservative talk radio hosts oppose him: Levin, Medved, Michael Savage is the exception that proves the rule.
There may be an ethnic component to the dislike of Trump we are seeing that is difficult to talk about, but it’s still there.
For the safety of the public, I say Stabby MacBeckth and Mark Levin be locked up in a well padded room for the next eight months, at minimum, or the next 4-8 years if Trump wins the election.
Mark, you need to calm down. you are showing yourself as an Agenda 21 proponent more than anything.
I think Levin might look like the South end of a North bound horse when all this is over.
Ya know, if Trump- becomes president, you and Beck won't get any interviews, scoops or exclusives.
