Mickey Fearn, the National Park Service Deputy Director for Communications and Community Assistance, made headlines when he claimed that black people don’t visit national parks because they associate them with slaves being lynched by their masters.
Yellowstone, the first national park, was created in 1872 in Wyoming. Slavery was over by then and no one had ever been lynching slaves around Old Faithful anyway. But false claims of racism die very hard.
Now Alcee Hastings, an impeached judge, and a coalition of minority groups is demanding increased “inclusiveness” at national parks. High on their list is the claim that, “African-Americans have felt unwelcome and even fearful in federal parklands during our nation’s history because of the horrors of lynching.”

So maybe the answer is to make big cities national parks - or petting zoos - and invite those suitably inclined to frequent those parks instead?
And leave the natural parks for normals...

That would be Aspens; they hang out at a certain elevation, where, they usually are all white. Racist.
Maybe if we paid them for not visiting, that would sufficiently please the “activists.”
There’s something seriously wrong with a society in which Alcee Hastings is anything but a humorous footnote. Even before he was a convicted felon, he was dumb as a froe.

I believe they would be very thankful to climb a tree out in the savannahs of Africa if they were being chased by hungry lions.
Of course, Tarzan was known to swing out of trees and kick butt. Crazy white ape, he was.

That would explain the lack of negros visiting Death Valley and Grand Canyon, all those trees.

It’s difficult to sympathize with someone who voluntarily soils their own bed and then complains about the smell. When blacks define some activity as “white” and avoid it they are self segregating. Some of the “white” things like speaking understandable English, working hard at academics, and getting good grades are discourage by threats and fists within their community. Going to the National Parks is the least of things no one is stopping them from doing and enjoying.
