You wouldn’t recognize the Eastside (of Seattle) now - Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Woodinville, Issaquah - huge expansions since ‘83!
One of my co-workers was embarrassed he resided in Redmond, so he got a PO Box in Bellevue and told everyone he lived in Bellevue.
Now Redmond is a locale of status. Poor rich kid, couldn't live off our salary, the one the rest of us supported families with, so his folks had to send him a monthly check so he could get by. Sad but true.
