Lynden, Washington
Established in 1874 on the site of the Nooksack Indian village Squahalish (Nooksack: Sqwehálich), the town of Lynden began as a pioneer settlement headed by Holden and Phoebe Judson.
Lynden is approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) south of the U.S.-Canadian border, with Lynden-Aldergrove operation and port of entry hours between 8:00 a.m. and midnight. It is also located about 15 miles (24 km) north of Bellingham, and about 95 miles (153 km) north of Seattle. The population of Lynden is about 12,902 according to the United States Census Bureau. Residents of Lynden are known as "Lyndenites". Lynden is also home to the Northwest Washington Fair.

My friend Charlie said if daddy didn’t buy me a horse by age ten he would. I really pressed dad So we got Punch and Judy before my birthday. Just the right size and age for a young girls.
It wasn’t until I was an adult that I figured out my friend Charlie was US Senator Charles Halick. Loved that man. He was so kind to me and loved to tease
I remember him telling the story at his retirement of filling my mouth with lemon drops and asking me questions in front of dad and another lawyer. Then telling all I made more sense then his colleagues in DC
