More than 8 million people in Britain live in households that struggle to put enough food on the table, with over half regularly going a whole day without eating, according to estimates of hunger in the UK.

One in 10 adults suffered moderate levels of food insecurity in 2014, placing the UK in the bottom half of European countries on hunger measures, below Hungary, Estonia, Slovakia and Malta.

A few years ago i was attending a community college. They had a table there with some pansy working with a sorority collecting money for the hungry. I asked him to show me pictures of American children with distended bellies from starvation. Or, even a group picture of children so skinny that you could tell they were on the verge of starvation. He had nothing but snotty comments and nasty looks for me.

Maybe if they didn’t spend so much on welfare on the muzzies who have invaded their country, they could take care of their own...

Because un socialist Britain nobody remembered to put up programs to feed hungry people? Seems to be rather an oversight.

Well, it could be phony statistics like they do in America - where every other child goes to bed hungry. Many of those studies have been debunked.

On the other hand, considering the world economy, I actually am not surprised people can’t afford food. I have some money but I cannot buy salmon (a very healthy food) at 40 dollars a pound! Many freepers cannot afford beef - all the government and agriculture are giving us is lean pork to eat!

If you go to bed hungry in a modern welfare state, something is seriously wrong, either with you, or the people who are supposed to have you in their care.

True. Unfortunately, there is a lot of that. We need to bring back orphanages and cut the drug-addled, totally dysfunctional parents off without a penny, with a pick and shovel, hard labor welfare program as their only option.

the United States supposedly has a similar percentage of starving children

"You see me in almost every school room, and you tell me I'm a pretty good kid"

I've nearly broken my radio turning those GD ads off.

It's always interesting how far down they define starvation. In the US one of the looser definition includes limitations of food selection, so if you're eating rice and beans for three days at the end of the month you are counted as "food insecure" which the press will immediately promote to starving to death.

When I was a kid and our family was on food stamps, we did run out of food for the last couple of days in the month. All we had left by then were durable items like flour and peanut butter. You have to get really creative to make meals out of that stuff. We weren't starving...

Hmm... remember, Newt Gingrich was drummed out of congress for making a similar suggestion. The national media went into hysteria over it. In reality, those "parents" do need to be taken out of the picture and sterilized to prevent them from having more kids they won't take care of--but good luck getting such a program enacted.

So obviously the answer is to bring in millions more middle easterners who will collect welfare and make more babies who will not work and go on welfare.

Nearly all schools provide free lunches to those who qualify—some provide free lunches to everyone. Most schools now have free breakfasts as well. The new thing is to start providing a supper. “Backpacks” are provided so kids don’t go hungry on the weekend. In the summertime free lunches are provided to everyone under 18 in some areas. None of these are deducted from the families’ food stamp allotment. Yet “one in five American school kids go to bed hungry”.

Or the old people struggling to pay for food after the green energy policies tripled electric bills, causing the harvesting of peat for fuel to come back.

I can believe half the kids in a school district getting free breakfasts and lunches, but they aren’t starving.
And these families are getting SNAP and WIC, too, but the free meals at school doesn’t lead to an offset in SNAP benefits.

No. I'm sure in Britain it's hunger advocates (SJWs) who are putting out some of these statistics to fatten up their coffers. I've been to England many times and never saw a starveling yet!

Try married to 2 or 3 women, each popping out a kid every year and collecting welfare from the ‘working folks’
...in addition to preaching a some dang mosque how to eliminate the heathens in Britain so ALLAH will be happy ??

Food insecurity is variously defined as experiencing hunger, inability to secure enough food of sufficient quality and quantity to enable good health and participation in society, and cutting down on food due to financial necessity.

It's always interesting how far down they define starvation. In the US one of the looser definition includes limitations of food selection, so if you're eating rice and beans for three days at the end of the month you are counted as "food insecure" which the press will immediately promote to starving to death.

Some time ago i did research into how agencies come up with such figures and the crafty way some agencies raising funds to help the hungry here use such findings, and found how contrived they were. How many Americans do NOT experience hunger, or how many well-fed souls would say they sometimes "do not have enough food of sufficient quality and quantity"...," or had to put things back on the rack because they did not have enough money (perhaps with them?) to buy them all, or did not know where their next meal was coming from (McDonalds, Papa Ginos)? There are relative poor, as we were growing up, but the figures are exaggerated for funding purposes.

Full examination here, by God's grace. Food hunger in America: More Hype than Reality. Why?

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. (Revelation 21:27)
