Like father, like son: Poppy Bush looked the American people square in the eye and said, "Read my lips: no new taxes." Of course, the former Director of Central Intelligence welshed, because lying is what he did for a living. Now comes his son Jeb, who raised his hand and pledged to support the eventual nominee of the Republican party in the race for president, back when he thought he had a chance. Naturally, the chip off the old block has reneged.
In a Facebook post, Bush announced that he could not in good conscience vote for Donald Trump, saying Trump has not demonstrated the temperament or strength of character needed to lead the United States. In doing so, Bush became the latest member of his family to publicly refuse to back the real estate magnate. He also is the second former presidential candidate, along with Lindsey Graham, to break the pledge all the candidates made, back in the fall of 2015, to support the eventual nominee. The pledge, of course, was designed to keep Trump from bolting the GOP and launching a third-party bid, which the RNC feared would scuttle the GOPs chances of winning the general election. So far, no one seems too concerned that a Bush/Graham third-party ticket could do the same.
In Sam Peckinpah's masterpiece, The Wild Bunch, two outlaws played by William Holden and Ernest Borgnine have a brief but telling exchange about a man's word and what it means. Hardly surprising that there was more honor in this rum crew of dead-end bandits than there is in the entire Bush family. If Trump does nothing else, destroying the unaccountable hold the Bushes have had on the GOP and the country should earn him the thanks of a grateful nation. And if he can destroy the Clintons, too... bonus.

The comments here show that Americans are not as brain-dead as Low Energy Jeb.
Who?
No. Bush is a conservative.
Their compassionate conservatism is smoke and miror b.s.
Sore dumb ass Loser is Jeb.
If Trump cracks a joke about how the Jebster refuses to support him, Trump's numbers will jump another 7 points.....
When I wrote what I did yesterday about him being a "good governor," I was thinking about his ability to rein in the budget after Lawton's usually Dem shenanigans, and the way he held the state together during the three hurricanes of 2004, which was the exact opposite of the way Nawlins and Louisiana handled Katrina/Rita the next year.
But Schiavo was one of the reasons I would never have supported Jeb in the primary, and why I am thankful I don't have to hold my nose once again for a GOPe-er in November. I will, however, ask the Trumpsters a question: do you think he, in a similar position, would have intervened to keep Terri alive? Frankly, I don't, and that is one of the reasons I did not vote for Trump in the primary, though I am on the train for the general, because, among other things, I know what Sra. Clinton would have done.
Supporting a candidate is not the same as voting for him/her.
A Vulgarian stole the crown prince’s birthright! Boo hoo
“””The entire Bush family will convene this Mothers Day and enjoy a buffet of Tea & Sympathy followed by extra large portions of Crow, served cold.””
No, they won’t. They’ll be talking about how much they have and how successful they’ve been. They are completely oblivious to the rest of the U.S. and its problems.
So don't ask me
Jeb, why be a fink?
Jeb, why kiss Saudi butt?
Why must you act like
A spoiled RINO nut?
When I'm toutin' the dynasty
And some freeper's trying to give me friction
I say, "Please go away, I'm doing pay-for-play
It's a family tradition."
Lordy, I have lived the good life
And I have made some bucks
And they both were my birthrights
Courtesy of all you schmucks.
If my Poppy asks me
"Jeb, how'd your run not get ignition?"
I'll say "Hey 41, I was just carryin' on
An old family tradition"
Mr. niteowl77
Yes, they forced a pledge on Trump never expecting him to actually win the nomination, now they show their true colors!
Define “Trumpster.”
The Bushies, Mitt Romney, Lindsey Graham, Rich Lowery, etc. are now total “ZEROs”!!! They have no impact whatsoever, other then destroying what little dignity and honor they had left....which is now gone forever!!! Best that can be said about them is: Low Life Polirical Vermin!!! LMAO at those idiots & morons combined!!!
I guess it would be those who have supported Trump since, say, before Wisconsin. It was not meant as a pejorative in the sentence.
To go back to the original topic, I don't think that a Gov. Trump in 2004 would have done any more to keep Terri alive than Gov. Bush did. That isn't enough to keep me from voting for Trump in Nov., for there are many reasons that Jeb! would have made a horrible President, most of which are not true of The Donald.
