They kept making Ayn Rand references, and one of them stated they were “dark enlightenment thinker.” It matched the stereotype in my mind.

Got into an argument with one once about the sanity of our open borders policies. Said he, 'freedom of movement is as central to the libertarian philosophy as the second amendment.'

Said I, 'about two-thirds of the earth's population would move to the United States if they could and most would vote to turn it into the very type of corrupt third world cesspool from which they escaped.'

I went to a Libertarian Party Meeting many decades ago. I made the mistake of giving them my name and address when I first arrived. Every one other than myself who was there was a marijuana legalization activist. For decades I was sent stuff in the mail for legalizing marijuana. The mail man must have thought that I was a huge pot head.
