They tried and failed to knock him out of the race using all their other players. IMO, their next avenue is to employ the same tactic used in 1963 and again in 1981.

With Reagan, they didn’t wait long, only 3 months after his inauguration, March 30, 1981. GHWB was “in position”, after having forced RR to accept him as VP.

Which brings me to the current stage.

DJT keeps expressing the need to “unify” the party. He also has said repeatedly that there are candidates, one in particular (didn’t mention name) that want to “come on board” the Trump Train.

DJT said that one specific person was a candidate who said some particularly vile things about him, but shrugged it off as “Politics, so no problem” to switch to supporting him.

The plan? They are going to try to trick DJT into believing the GOPe is buying into his Unity message, with the goal of having him name this guy as VP. Then they will be in the same position as 1963 and 1981.

Will they succeed in tricking DJT?

I’d like to laugh, considering Mr. Trump’s brilliance and street smarts, but this is too serious for that.

Instead, regular and earnest prayers are heard by God, for all things Trump.
