Ben Carson has a plan for Ted Cruz now that the Texas senator has dropped out of the GOP presidential race: attorney general, then Supreme Court justice under a Trump administration.
When Fox News Radios John Gibson asked Carson on Wednesday whether it would be smart for presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump to offer Cruz a position on the Supreme Court, he said yes.
I think he would be terrific on the Supreme Court, or I think he would be a terrific attorney general. Or he could be both, Carson said. He could be attorney general first, you know, go ahead and prosecute Hillary, and then go on the Supreme Court.......

NO.
And you are asking Cruz supporters to trust 'lib Donnie' to be a conservative? FU!
Cruz would go after and jail Planned Parenthood leaders for selling parts of unborn children. He would have an indictment before Feb. 1st.
Alito talks a little bit and Thomas never ever talks. They run over the libs every day.
Supporters of that snake handling, Canadian creep can do whatever they like.
I’m with you. TBTF bank connections = part of the problem. Double that for lawyers, and double again for Harvard lawyers.
And maybe double once more for people whose parents have unusual and not-clearly-explained connections to the CIA.
Not everyone seems to care about his personal red flags and the wife who pushes “sh t” to the “Muppets” as her occupation. Their ideological zeal matches Soviet communists.
“Cruz has a 100% conservative voting record.”
TPA/TPP?
Corker bill?
You’ve gotta be kidding me.
Exactly, he needs to be kept outside the gates.
Personally I find it very interesting that her work on the North American Union project doesn’t bother any of his supporters.
If a candidate isn’t even on board with the idea of conserving the existence of a nation, how conservative can he really be?
“After Texas secedes, he can be the Premier.”
Not just naw, but HELL naw.
> Cruz has a 100% conservative voting record.
Had. Past tense.
I used to admire him for it, before he exposed his true nature.
“...but he would just try to run over everyone just like he did/does in the Senate...”
Lead, follow, or get out of the way.
Both acceptable options in my opinion. Where does Cruz wish to be? He has bargaining power since his efforts to get his loyalist selected as delegates means they will likely control the platform writing committee.
Just as I suspected.
I’d rather have Cruz > Christie for AG.
Christie’s got a stronger authoritarian streak that i dislike.
The Senate will never confirm him for SCOTUS. The AG slot will likely go to Chris Christie.
I am really not sure where Cruz will land and I’m not sure I even care, although my heart is troubled for his family.
I think Cruz will need to go through a period of restoring his image and repairing the damage to his credibility and integrity. But first he needs to be aware of it, and then go through healing. He simply no longer connects. And his associations are downright scary.
I’m ok with that as well, absolutely but to be completely dismissive of the idea (not you but others) and insulting does not bring in those that were passionate about Cruz. Again I’ll repeat it until folks get it. We cannot continue marginalizing and maligning Cruz supporters. It’s ok to debate the points however if Trump does not pull them in as with us Trump loses period
Uh I think that ship has sailed Ben.
“Whoever it is needs to be a lover of the Constitution and have a great desire to see the Constitution reinstated as the law of the land.” Well, then you need someone exactly like Cruz as AG and then on the USSC to replace Justice Scalia. Christie’s accomplishments in his 6 years as Governor on issues that might show him as someone who fits your bill as quoted above are barely noticeable and ephemeral.. The only thing that can rightly be said about him is that he was somewhat better then a Democrat. He lost the fight to appoint even a moderate Republican to the NJSC and finally, cravenly, nominated a Democrat of uncertain alliances whom Sweeney is rushing to confirm. We would have been better off with no court action at all. The few major moves he’s made here have turned to shit and NJ is on the short list as one of the States that could follow PR into bankruptcy. Please, try to set aside the aberrant picture the media has painted of Cruz over the last few months and review his solid record as Solicitor General of Texas and the positions he’s supported during his time as Senator as well as the enemies he’s made.
