Londoners go to the polls on Thursday to choose a replacement for the outgoing Mayor, Boris Johnson MP. Despite the fact the Labour Party is currently mired in an anti-Semitism scandal, if all things remain equal, expect the party’s candidate Sadiq Khan MP to be confirmed in the early hours of Friday morning.

Mr. Khan, 45, has had a successful career in the Labour Party, being elected to parliament in 2005, becoming a Minister of State in 2008 with a promotion in 2009. He was a Shadow Secretary of State for Justice from 2010-15, and has been running for London Mayor since then.

Please enlighten us as to why Londoners would elect a Radical Islamist as Mayor?

This mayoral victory for a Labour politician who happens to be Muslim no more makes the UK a Muslim country than the election of Obama makes the United States a Muslim country or Muslim-friendly.

It is rather ironic that FreeRepublic is currently indulging in a fetish of Brit-bashing over this news, whilst being the nation that voted in Obama not once but twice. The nation that has allowed places like Dearborn to become Mecca-By-The-Sea. The nation that has allowed radical Islam to infiltrate its military with fatal results.

Perhaps people may want to focus on their own country and its Muslim issues and problems, before bashing others.

The vast majority of UK Muslims aren’t terrorists or nutters or radicals. NOR will they breed us out. After nearly 70 years, they are still 4% of the population, one which is 90% white British.

How does that break down into age groups? Today most, if not all, European countries are 90+% "white". But what is the percentage in the, say, 5-20 year-old group? That is wherein the danger lies - the large proportion of older Europeans will be dead and gone in a few years.

Add to that the concentration of muslims in the major urban localities. I think there is ample ground to be afraid for the future of Europe (including the UK) as we know it unless strict immigration measures are taken. First and foremost, expelling all criminal elements. There is an assimilated portion that is welcomed to stay. The rest just need to go.

I follow the demographics.

The Muslim pop in the UK has risen and will rise, but OTT predictions of a UK with 50+% Muslims and a nation run by Muslims is nonsense.

The pop will rise to 5 or 6% at most (yes too many), and what I read of their birthrates states that they will DROP by 2030 and 2050 to native levels.

In short, in 2116, the UK will still be a nation with well over 90% NON Muslims, and around 85-90% white.

I agree on the last point: the UK is moving right imo, out of the EU and towards UKIP and a stronger post-Cameron conservatism. Its even regaining votes in Scotland. We have seen isnce 2010 and will see a UK far less open to immigration. We simply cannot take in many more, no matter what they are.

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia, the Islamic Law.

My child knows more about crazy Islamists that most other people as he was held against his will by Muammar Gaddafi in Libya and kidnapped in Somalia and rescued by UN helicopter. Once Gaddafi convinced himself the son wasn’t CIA, son traveled with Gaddafi around Libya. After getting out of Libya he said Gaddafi was crazy and would kill anyone just because he could. Sharia law ruled there.

Son was here for two weeks and just went back to London last Saturday. He says Muslims are not assimilating and have their own areas in and around London. He knows where they are and stays away from those areas. You can imagine he does not want a Muslim mayor. He lives outside London and cannot vote in that election but his business building is in downtown London unless he is somewhere around the world directing a documentary film.
