Now that Donald J. Trump is the presumptive presidential nominee, a parade of prominent Republican leaders is breaking with the traditions and rituals of party unity and offering him a blunt message:
Nope. Never. I cant. I wont.
In a flurry of social media posts and interviews over the last 24 hours, these Republicans raced to distance themselves from Mr. Trump, delivering a remarkable rebuke to him at precisely the moment when parties usually coalesce around a candidacy.
Mark Salter, a longtime strategist for Senator John McCain of Arizona, sounded resigned and disgusted as he said the unthinkable: He was now prepared to back Hillary Clinton.
The GOP is going to nominate for President a guy who reads the National Enquirer and thinks its on the level, he wrote on Twitter late Tuesday. Im with her.
The dissenters, who range from wizened elders to younger strategists and even elected officials, are loudly and publicly proclaiming their unwillingness to support Mr. Trump.
Many have expressed reservations about him in the past, but left open the possibility they might back him in the future. Now they are forcefully foreclosing that option.

Who believes any of this cr@p from the NY Slimes?
Another loser supporting Hillary. This is good news!
Rat flushed out into the open. Vote them out.
Lol. The ‘muh principles’ pseudo-conservatives are determined to punish the Trump-voting hoi polloi for not voting in who they were told.
I noticed that NR seems to be trying to get with the program, albeit with Jonah Goldberg continuing to p*** into the wind.
Well, it’s over. Trump will face off against Hillary and get creamed, getting no more than 10% of the popular vote. Heck, Hillary does not even need to campaign now! She can waltz right into the Oral Office!
The hundred influential people in D C who spent millions of dollars on #NeverTrump should hold dear to their ‘principles’ and keep their 100 votes for Hillary.
Then they should form their own party. A hundred people might not sound like much considering they won’t have ANY political power but in fifty or sixty years the group might grow to a few hundred people... and they’ll be able to elect a dog catcher.
Have hope Lindsey Graham... and get the hell out of our party.
I believe their full throated opposition to Trump is actually an endorsement for him to a lot of people.
I'm sure it will help bring many middle of the road democrats into the Trump camp if they see leading Reps against him.
A John McCain guy supporting Hillary? GASP! Who could imagine it?!
Trump is the first guy, in either major political party in the entire last generation, who is saying “bring back American jobs”.
What we are seeing, is there are a section of the establishment, who have sold out America, and who are threatened by this.
Gosh. Who to support?
Note to all GOPe “bigwigs” from the voters:
WE CAN WIN WITHOUT YOU.
Anyone who can’t accept the reality of Trump might as well leave now, as he is the new head of the Republican party and will be remaking it from the bottom up. If you doubt this, just look at how quickly Reince Preibus has moved to embrace Trump - as fast as a man who wants to keep his job embraces any new boss.
The rest of them can go to hell. Krauthammer first, then Beck, Loesch, and that whole crew of idiots, followed by the National Review incompetents, Ben Shapiro, Mark Levin, and Rush, who out of all the above might just end up being smart enough to redeem himself. We’ll see.
I would hope we see the end of links to RedState.com on Free Republic. I would imagine a lot of their page views come from FR links. This is the only place I’ve ever heard of their site.
RedState blogger Ben Howe, who’s promised to phone bank for Clinton if Trump gets the nomination, followed suit.

They will come around for November.
LOL - so were back to the ‘Trump can break 10% stuff’? We’’re not going all the way back to ‘he’s a joke and an entertainer’??
Yep, Hillary - the person who should be in prison is overconfident... Funny, but so was Jeb.
Y’all come back in Nov. and we’ll see how accurate your prediction turned out to be.
Remember this the next time one of these jerks calls for party unity behind a GOPe quisling.

So her views on abortion and so many other issues weren’t really that important to him after all?
Does McCain still want us to “Build the danged fence?”
It’s past time for the GOP to take out the TRASH. Which has been collecting for decades. Dole,McCain,Romney , McConnell and Baehnor are just a few. Their Umbilicals are attached to the Democrat Party.
