List of Republicans Who Vow to Never Support Donald Trump
Stumpin for Trump ^ | 5/3/2016 | Missannie

A number of prominent Republicans are vowing to never back Donald Trump even as he closes in on the GOP presidential nomination.

The “Never Trump” ranks include lawmakers, party operatives, pundits and GOP donors — and the movement even sparked a popular hashtag on social media.

They are convinced Trump as standard-bearer would lead the GOP to a devastating defeat in November, costing the party the Senate and potentially the House.

The real estate mogul, though, is marching ahead, and now has 994 of the 1,237 delegates needed to capture the nomination, according to the Associated Press.

And there are growing signs many in the GOP establishment are warming to Trump. He’s been endorsed by 11 lawmakers, with others regularly attending Capitol Hill meetings with his staff. Trump has also declared himself the “presumptive nominee.”

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus has criticized the Never Trump movement as well. “It is essential to victory in November that we all support our candidate,” Priebus said at the RNC’s spring meeting.

Trump’s opponents are focused on trying to deny him the delegates needed to secure the nomination in hopes of forcing a contested convention in July.

Here’s a list of Republicans who won’t back Trump as nominee.

He never gave a name, but it was a good speech.

You could see his level of tension has decreased appreciably.

> The great thing about this election is the people aren’t doing what they’re told anymore.

A million or more TEA partiers at the Washington mall, and gathering at local town halls and state houses were ridiculed and ignored by everyone. But their show of numbers had little immediate impact. Everyone thought the TEA party withered away. I just sat quietly, waiting for the moment. Had it not been for Trump, we would now have Jeb or the Rube as our only choice. Trump picked the right moment to seize all that repressed spirit, although I wish he would have done it in 2012 and cleaned Romney’s clock and then kicked the zero out. But better late than never.

Like Newt said, "If you ain't for Trump, at this point, then you is for Hillary"

Little poetic license but accurate concept/interpretation....

The objection most on that list have with Trump is that he’s not a “real conservative”, or not conservative “enough”. Their evidence is largely based on his actions of the past, as in donations to various politicians of both sides that either are Democrats or that don’t meet the conservative purity test. I understand a business man, in the current crony system we have, buying favors, or future influence as the case may be. This to me is not evidence that the rich donor doesn’t abhor the system.

We should temper our expectations of Trump. He’s not running on imposing term limits or eliminating the progressive income tax, the two pillars on which most of what ails our government have been maintained. It will be business as usual until these two impediments are dealt with.

But Trump’s stance on immigration is a conservative one. Seal the border, enforce the laws, discourage colonization, encourage assimilation. PC bedamned.

Donald Trump is the only candidate to see that there is no solution to the problem of Islam which doesn’t involve consequences that may by necessity accrue to all muslims. PC bedamned.

Trump’s tax plan Isn’t perfect, but it is an improvement over what we now have to endure. Though he seems not to see the global warming ruse for what it is, I don’t believe he’ll let the EPA to continue to run roughshod over American business.

I didn’t hate Ted Cruz, but I never trusted him on immigration, and I simply believed the system needed someone to be willing to blow it up. It was a close call for me, but I believe Trump might preside over a needed change in direction. Im a nationalist now, I think it’s where we need to go.

Ill take Trump, warts and all. He’s a step in what I hope will be a process which will end with term limits and an end of the progressive income tax. This is when America can be great again, and not until.

The usual suspects/sore losers were out trashing Trump after his big win and eloquent speech. The usual suspects - mark levin, rich lowery, george noory had a guy on who did a nasty hit piece, my local SW Florida radio guy right out of the box this morning. Not hard to cross them off my list. I’d love to see them all go down. Frankly, the internet and live streaming has been my go to place for most of the primaries.

They are convinced Trump as standard-bearer would lead the GOP to a devastating defeat in November, costing the party the Senate and potentially the House.

Hopefully, despite the idiots' best efforts, that will not happen.

Just goes to show how much the elite have forgotten that this country is supposed to be governed on the basis of "for the people, by the people."

Will Cruz say anything gracious in defeat, or will he be like McCain when he lost to Bush, all sour grapes and refusing to support the candidate?
