If we end up getting candidates that are half Ted Cruz, then that would be a big victory for his candidacy.
Most GOP nominees lose one primary before winning the next. Reagan, Dole, McCain, Romney to name a few. GOPers are conservative in bad ways as well as good ways, and prefer a familiar name they’re comfortable with than someone new.

4 years is a long time in politics and there is not a great track record of senators becoming presidents. I just think his time was this cycle and he lost. I think there is a “Duncan Hunter” type who will learn from this primary and be ready when the time comes.
Cruzifer got out to protect his Dad. That Trump got him to go ballistic and on the same day he dropped out is also more than a coincidence.
Trump would be saying over and over that he thinks someone needs to look into the Oswald Cruz connection.

I think Cruz ended this line of inquiry by surprising everyone less than a day after he said with certainty he was going to stay in the contest.
