Iowa was where a lot of his supporters saw the real Ted for the first time. I think his shenanigans in that caucus started the hemorrhaging of supporters out of his column.
It only got worse from there, with moves like sidling up to Stabby The Clown, and blaming Trump for the violence in Chicago.
