If Cruz drops out it will finally be a two-man race....Trump and, uhm, oh yeah Kasich...
The most enthusiastic Trump voters don't seem to get it, but that would be bad. A one-man race with just Trump would of course be best for Trump. However, a three-way race with Trump and then Cruz and Kasich as a footnote is better for Trump than just two. If Cruz drops out, slightly more than half his support would go to Kasich (more Cruz supporters used to prefer Trump over Kasich, but the ones he still has don't like Trump). In other words, the establishment would have a "surge" for Kasich at the end of the primaries, proving that GOP voters don't want Trump and that they have to derail the convention to reflect "the will of the people".
I voted for Trump a week ago, and I want Cruz to stay in. He is likely to cut his campaign staff way back tonight, but without dropping out of the race. That makes him less of a threat, without making Kasich more of a threat. Trump voters should celebrate such a decision.
Paid Hillary/Soros trolls will keep trying to start a fight, but we should not let them succeed. Assuming Trump wins tonight in Indiana - likely at 55% of the vote - there is no way Cruz can stop him. Cruz is no longer a threat, and his presence (given Kasich is staying) in the race is a good thing for Trump.
