Many years ago my son, while he was doing his student teaching, was teamed with a classmate who was Hispanic. She invited him to Sunday dinner. Son said after dinner all four of her brothers and her father just got up from the table and left their dishes and the mess. My son started picking up dishes and headed for the kitchen and they stopped him and announced that it was woman’s work and to leave things on the table.
