I totally agree. The man shouldn't have responded with profanity, particularly with the kids present but he was right to tell her to mind her own business. Just because there is abuse in the food stamp system doesn't mean that there aren't legitimate users.

I agree. Maybe he was/is a fraudster, maybe not. Just having foodstamps is, by itself, no crime - and there is no possible way that this lady could know, either way. I wish that no one needed it, but in many ways the government created the demand itself with its outrageous tax and regulatory policies that chase companies overseas. Some people can cope with that type of change more easily than others. So long as it doesn’t become a way of life, or there’s clear fraud, I have no trouble with a short term helping hand (emphasis on SHORT).
