The Black Lives Matter movement has brought the challenges facing black America to the fore, and introduced racially conscious quality-of-life questions into the national debate. How are black residents in America's cities faring? And how are those cities doing in meeting the aspirations of their black residents, judged especially by the ultimate barometer: whether blacks choose to move to these cities, or stay in them?
Though results vary to some extent, the broad trend is clear: West Coast progressive enclaves are either seeing an exodus of blacks or are failing to attract them.

Its easy. In the 1920s and 1930s, blacks moved to the big cities from the miserable crapholes that the Democrats created for them in the South. Now they are moving out of the miserable crapholes that the Democrats created for them in the big cities. Name one place that is controlled by Dems that is not economically dying.
Plus, at only 12(ish)% of the population, they can’t be everywhere.
Hispanics are moving into black neighborhoods, and then running the blacks out.
Moving to Detroit, Chicago, Ferguson, Baltimore? Where all the fun is.
This one is not complicated. The Mexicans chased them out.
Broken families and lack of interest in STEM courses will eventually price you out of the market.
Oakland California is rapidly turning from a dangerous slum into a technology center for companies like Uber.
Yup, mexicans hate blacks and vice versa.
Yup, mexicans hate blacks and vice versa.
Oh my goodness, really?
Whites seem to be the most tolerant of all.
They don’t want to die ?
—I suspect mostly because most of them can’t afford to live there—
Most of the blacks who moved from the South were both escaping segregation and worked hard to create a better life for their families. Once a couple of generations passed and/or the Great Society and liberal policies destroyed the black families the areas where they lived declined precipitously.
Enter now the illegals who are making life rough for blacks in the hellholes they live in because the illegals are worse and are not afraid of being punished for acts against blacks so the blacks are leaving.
Once the family unit is destroyed, religion (moral) teachings are removed from a society, and law and order breaks down chaos reigns. We are at the beginning of the chaos stage.
Trump is the only thing between us and total breakdown.
“Hispanic” is really too broad a term in my opinion. Mexicans and Central Americans aren’t particularly fond of blacks and are in fact pushing blacks out of historically black neighborhoods, in some cases violently. The term “people of color” is an attempt to make it seem as if blacks and browns are somehow united, but that is hardly the case. Hispanics from the Caribbean may have a different attitude, I don’t know from personal experience.
From the article:
"...the evidence suggests that specific public policies in these cities are to blame. Primary among them are restrictive planning regulations, common along the West Coast, that make it hard to expand the supply of housing. In a market with rising demand and static supply, prices go up."
"Not surprisingly, these southern cities are extremely affordable. A combination of pro-business policies combined with a development regime that permits housing supply to expand as needed has proved a winner. (Among these southern cities, only Miami, with its massive influx of Latin American wealth, is rated as unaffordable, with a median multiple of 5.6.)"
Because living in these cities is approaching impossible unless you’re in the top 1%. Or the bottom 10%....
- Those areas are being inundated with Hispanic illegals.
- Blacks do not like nor get along with them well. And vice-versa.
Racism, it isn’t just for white guys in the sticks anymore.
It’s so hard for liberals to get their “tone” right. This article sounds like humblebragging.
