Strategically and tactically unwise. Cruz can stay in regardless of the Indiana outcome. He's no more or less mathematically eliminated. And if Limbaugh thinks Trump doesn't have a lock on 1237, he's not thinking or looking very far ahead.
He'll handle "saying that Donald won't build the wall and send back illegals" by attributing the remark to others, and denying it was what he believed.
I wonder if Limbaugh is consciously or even subconsciously telegraphing to the listener, "you can have me, or you can have Trump." He's ripe for retirement anyway, maybe he's setting ascendency of Trump as his reason or excuse - not that THAT would make any sense, he's always done well when a DEM was in office and control.
