How the #NeverTrump crowd can cripple his presidency
Donald Trump has a shot at reconfiguring the electoral map putting traditionally blue states like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin into play, with his working-class, industrial appeal. Hes going to need the support of the #NeverTrump crowd in the nations suburbs.
According to the Atlantic, Mr. Trump could win the Rust belt states without improving on any other demographic by holding his opponent to less of the working-class white vote than any Democrat has won since 1988. Yes, thats a narrow path, but given Mr. Trumps potential appeal to new and crossover voters and a general lack of enthusiasm for Mrs. Clintons candidacy among Democrats its plausible.
In Iowa, if all else remained constant, [Trump] could win if he held the Democratic nominee to 47 percent or less of the vote among working-class whites, not much different from the partys recent low point of 48 percent in 2004, The Atlantic reported. In Ohio, Trump could win by pushing the Democrat even slightly below the recent low point of 40 percent that [President Barack] Obama notched in 2012.
Overall, if Mr. Trump were to capture 65 percent or more of the white vote, he would win the nomination, pollsters say. In 2012 Mitt Romney won 59 percent.
====================================
The first step in turning Mr. Trumps numbers around is for Party elites to finally coalesce around Mr. Trump, Mr. Olsen said. For example, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walkers endorsement could move the needle in Wisconsin, and John Kasichs support could solidify Mr. Trumps numbers in Pennsylvania and Ohio. So far both men have been solidly anti-Trump.
The #NeverTrump movement may not be strong enough to deny Mr. Trump the nomination, but it is strong enough to deny him the presidency.

Kelly Riddell might not believe it but you can mark it down:
“#nevertrump# will be revealed as the political equivalent of the Y2K scam at the turn of the century.
Shrieking, freaking, shouting and screaming, noise that will end up being muted by the inexorable and inevitable Trump victory in the Fall.
Good point.
His son Donald touched on so many fundamental concepts during his presentation, but it left little doubt that he grasped our beliefs.
When asked where the got them, he attributed them to his dad.
Folks miss so much that is out there to allow them to understand that Trump is a good guy.
Quote:
“I can never vote for liberals, progressives or communists. That means no democrat will ever get my vote. Trump is clearly a progressive. Remember, the progressive movement started in the republican party.”
So, then you’re okay with the Dems stacking the Supreme Court for a generation, the nullification of the 2nd Amendment, and the likely destruction of the Republic?
Go it.....
or not
Earlier today (Sat)
I was told yesterday that Trump is a liberal Democrat. My reply:

Awesome! Now, if a few other former candidates would only do the same.
At this point, Cruz is just a spoiler. He might as well just announce that he’s pushing for Hillary.
And if the #NeverTrump movement is strong enough to deny him the presidency, it then becomes strong enough to kill itself.
That will be the END of the GOPee, and quite possibly the start of a civil war.
Progressive used to mean very liberal around the turn of the centenary and yes Republicans used the label. After WW2 it's the label that communists hid under to this very day. Trump's a 100% capitalist. If you can't tell the difference between a communist like Hillery or Obama and a capitalist like Trump then you might need to see your doctor about that.
Is Don Jr. even 35 yet? Boy, would Trump shock the world if he ever pulled THAT move! LOL A potential Trump in the White House for 16 years. Wow! I wonder how most supporters would react? I mean, what the he’ll...he’s broken all the molds to this point so why not!
Wow.
My only contribution would be what I have read.
I have read where the rank and file really likes him.
I have read articles that tried to convey the idea they would be against him.
I tend to believe the rank and file would support him, because he talks of bringing back jobs.
To a group of people who see foreign workers as a very real threat, I think it’s a natural for them to respect his outlook on the matter.
I was raised to be leery of unions, and nothing in my lifetime has caused me to feel any differently.
Unions seem corrupted to me. They are anti American in every sense of the word. They will even betray their own members on the drop of a dime.
Unions now support illegal immigration.
I think the members will vote with their brains, and those brains will be thinking Trump when they put their “X” on the top spot.
Hillary? LOL I don’t think so.
The only reason the GOPe backed Cruz and Kasich was to bookend Trump on the right and the left to peel away supporters from both sides also he would fade like a plant in the shade. That is why they are still in the race and will continue to be in the race until the money dries up.
More blather.
In other words, Nevertrump is just a RAT front group.
I'm not the one calling Trump a "progressive."
I know what the various terms mean, quite well. I've listened to more than my fair share of communist and progressive propaganda. Once you account for the cultural differences between the USSR and the US, the difference between the two becomes a matter of terminology, not substance.
"Giving the Democrats the Supreme Court means you ARE the Democrats."
Yes Trump IS a good guy...but WATCH OUT if you cross him. There will be HELL to pay...which is why we love him ;) Possibly the best counter-puncher since Ali :))
Rubio’s been warming up to Trump in the last couple days. I wonder what his price is... those delegates would be the icing on the cake.
Yep.
