This is why I don’t have my cellphone out on any trip into the city with the El. Bring a book!
The El can get extremely sketchy during working hours in the loop. That 10am time frame on the Blue line is full of homeless and din do’s as everyone else is in the office.

When I was moving out of the inner city, the ferals were watching as I loaded my U-Haul in the driveway.
As I stepped back into the apartment for a moment, I heard one holler to another, “Get the CDs, foo! Get the CDs!”
And the other one inside my U-Haul responded, “Ain nuffin up in hyer but boxes of books! B**** ain got no CDs.”
That’s what I had marked on the boxes. Heh heh.
