I listen about 2-5 hours a week. He seems about as even handed as anyone I’ve heard.
I’ve heard him say that the way Cruz has snagged delegates is legal and not unusual. And the next breath saying that if the GOP goes ahead and goes against the will of the electorate, if Trump has a solid lead, it will be the destruction of the party.
I voted for Trump 2 weeks ago. I prefer Cruz for his constitutional purity but am a realist and love the way Jim Robinson proves that Trump is a conservative. I think some folks here are reading more into Rush’s dialog than Rush is trying to convey.
Rush was on the Trump bandwagon until it appeared he wasn’t going to self destruct. Over time he has more and more distanced himself from Trump while not crossing into being negative. Trump is nothing more than an accumulation of the all the things these hosts like Rush have been harping on for years, especially since 06.
He should dance with the one that brung him to the dance instead of going outside to smoke cigars and drinking adult beverages with the good ol’ boys.

What a snotty comment. This is a thoughtful, even-handed, deeply insightful column. It stands beautifully on its own. It does not require a radio program to make its points.
I’ve listened to him on an off since the early 90s. IMHO he has been fairly neutral, although he definitely leans Cruz. This week he had a pro Cruz caller, who was obviously reading from a script. She is going on about how Cruz always tells the truth and how Trump is a big liar when Limbaugh says
“If you want a pure candidate, Ted Cruz is white as the driven snow”.
I turn off the radio.
Sean Hannity has had the most balanced talk show IMO.
Great letter. Perhaps Rush should reread some of his history books on the First American Revolution. Many of us have warned Rush about talking conservatives who don’t drain the swamp, but join the alligators. Rush has chosen to inflict these wounds on himself. Sadly, even after Rush saw that the anger which made Trump was bigger than a single candidate, he refused to see that the institutions he held dear were committing suicide by indifference to the people. You can’t claim the mantle of conservatism and continue to support the mendacity of the elected Republicans.

That’s what I thought as well - a union member is basically saying that the Reagan democrat vote is being regained, and Rush makes fun of him. Bad, Rush. Very bad.

By saying that Trump is not conservative, the Establishment has shown us that we didn’t really know what they meant by “conservative”. Conservative meant supporting NAFTA while chattering about process. Conservative meant enabling amnesty while chattering about process. Conservative meant supporting Obama’s agenda while chattering about process. Conservative meant supporting bigger and bigger government while chattering about process.
We can now look back on all the “conservative” pundits and see that they sold us out a long, long time ago. Thank you Donald J. Trump! At least now when they give us a wooden block and send us into the gas chambers, we won’t think we are taking a bar of soap into the shower! Or, God willing, we can take this country back and make it Good again! Because America has to be Good before it can be Great!

Limbaugh has long defended the rich, the wealthy, big business, and the Republican elites in Media and Government. And that’s fine except that to most people these groups don’t need much defending.
But Limbaugh almost never defends the plight of the working man and woman other than claiming his “defense” of the aforementioned groups “trickles down” on the hoi polloi below.
Which has been demonstrated to be nonsense.
After 25 years of declining incomes, disappearing good-paying job opportunities, trillions in debt, stupid wars our military are not allowed to win, massive increases in health costs and now Obamacare, ridicule from a statist media and entertainment complex, eight years of the worst President in American history, and a voter-empowered but cowardly and feckless “conservative” majority Congress and SCOTUS, we the “Silent Majority” have had enough.

This transgender weirdness is something that has just recently been sprung on us so people are not sure what to do about it. It sounds like this question was sprung on Trump because of the North Carolina decision and all the brouhaha that came about. He did not have time to have a plan as what to do about this.
At Trump Towers and other places transgender men dressed as women probably use the women’s room but they probably look pretty much like women. I don’t like this of course but if they can pass for women it is not as threatening as a guy who really looks like a guy going into the women’s rest room. Anyhow I don’t think that this hot potato has to be dropped solely in Trumps lap. There is a whole industry that gives counseling to people with confused gender identities and enables their confused thinking. There are Dr. Frankensteins who give hormone shots to little kids and who perform grotesque operations. There are legislators who support these abominations. Cruz was very quick to criticize Trump but he did not say what he would do.
Rush is done for me and my family. He is off his rocker.
Sticking to his guns doesn’t make Rush a bad guy.
